Remember when we used to lose games like this by 30?
You are correct, we should be happy to lose by a closer margin. No need to want/expect to win, just keep it close as possible. Maybe they will give out some participation trophies at years end. Just glad CBR is not happy and expects more.

This is a great opportunity for our program. To continue to grow, we need to win some of these games against quality opponents on the road.

We can do this. Go get ‘em!
Yes.
Need this.
Wish we did not always need, but at least for now we do.
Seems that we seldom are able to take advantage of such opportunities.
When I posted the above, I thought we would win the game.
We have a good team.
Sorry we did not win.

Prrreeetttty sure Paul was merely providing some perspective after a close loss, on the road, to a non mid-major team.

Cincy is a mid-major, maybe a high mid-major but still a mid-major. Currently with a few games still ongoing tonight FU dropped only 2 spots in kenpom to #66. Cincy moved up 3 spots to #60..

Live by the 3. Die by the 3 when they clank.
So far our 3p% have gone 29, 36, 21, 47, 25 through 5 games. So it looks like we shoot bad every other game, but our hot nights keep the average looking good. Doesn’t matter because I’ve been told shooting percentages don’t matter in today’s game.

It’s ok. Apaladin is a long time dickhead. :)

I've heard a lot of coaches speak after tough losses over the years. The successful ones sound an awful lot like Bob Richey sounded in the postgame tonight.

One of the only two games I can recall where Alex Hunter didn't look in control (the other being UNCG at home last year). I was surprised at the comment about Mounce's shooting - he went 4/11 on threes, and had some nice drives to the basket... all of that to say, he didn't disappear in this game which he tends to do from time to time. Guessing Coach is poking his 2 seniors to step up and set the tone going forward?

We were down by 12 at the half but didn't give up. In spite of our trouble on the boards and missed 3's we made a great run in the second half. The team showed a lot of heart. Go 'Dins!

The loss did not hurt much in national rankings. Fell only one spot in kenpom to #65. Fell 4 spots in team rankings to #52. Another big opportunity next Tuesday vs. Alabama currently #47 in kenpom. Need to get by Flagler first.

Good effort by a good team (us) - would love to win one of these. One more shot vs Bama - who is objectively better than Cincinnati.. this was the better shot to win a "big one".. Tough ask but we can win vs Bama. That said, apparently Flagler is no joke. Not great but better than I would have thought - beating some D1 teams. This year, one game at a time as many games will not even take place.

*800+ games have been cancelled or postponed already in two weeks !!! EIGHT HUNDRED

Yep tonight’s SoCon opener has been postponed(Mercer/VMI).
Exactly. No sure thing that we play Alabama or any game. We are LUCKY to have played all of our games. Most teams have lost at least one game. Playing every game helps teams develop and learn so we have been fortunate there

coming up on 900 games cancelled . NINE HUNDRED
