They appear to be souvenir pins from Lions Club conventions.

Yep. That's exactly what they are. My grandfather was in the Lion's Club and I went to a few conventions with him. Pin trading is a huge deal at these things. My guess is a SC Lion's Club member took 50 of these bad boys and traded them with other national and international members. That's a really cool looking pin!
