It looks like Willie graduated, so I have no problem with this move...

Continues in the fine tradition of Jalen Williams & Jonathan Jean. Leaving Furman with good memories and most importantly, a degree.

Interesting stat courtesy of Jon Rothstein

"A year go 14 mid-major players who averaged double figures during the 18-19 season opted to grad transfer to power conferences. None averaged double figures last year"

I’m fascinated to see where Clark goes.

I can promise you, he is going to go to a team that won't be as good as Furman is next year
Kinda like what Jalen Willimas did by going to Cleveland St.

I really hate Tre left. He was one of my favorite players. His defense and rebounds will be greatly missed.

There are pro's and cons to most every situation, with the Pro's for each:
For Tre he decided to do what was in his own best interest, since he was a bench guy for us it makes sense he would value a grad degree even a little more so than had he been one of our top all around starters
For FU hoops, Tre was not drawing much attention when we were on offense, now maybe we have a more capable offensive threat and spacing
Also Tre was a liability at the free throw line, especially if we ever need him to play late in a game
This will allow our young guys to play solid back-up minutes, we will need 2 of them to start in 2 years so this only bodes well for developing them quicker for those leadership roles

Yes, but really excited to see how Marcus Foster fills that role....

Has to make you wonder if there was a conversation in the season wrap up that minutes might be heading down with a deeper bench next year.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
