That was my initial feeling but heading to Charleston right after Labor Day, with a Furman game to attend, seems like a nice way to spend a long weekend.

My hope is we got a 2-for-1. But based on the performance of the Big South and SoCon in the postseason, maybe there isn't much difference in the leagues after all and a simple 1-for-1 is appropriate.Paul C wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 11:11 amThat was my initial feeling but heading to Charleston right after Labor Day, with a Furman game to attend, seems like a nice way to spend a long weekend.
Not for my money. To put it mildly, Charleston stinks, literally.Paul C wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 11:11 amThat was my initial feeling but heading to Charleston right after Labor Day, with a Furman game to attend, seems like a nice way to spend a long weekend.
We’ve been to Charleston several times a year for as long as I can remember. I’ve never smelled this stench you refer to. Never. Beautiful city. I agree with PaulC. September is a wonderful time to visit the Holy City.apaladin wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 1:39 pmNot for my money. Stuck in the wrong decade with that mentality...like the early 1980s. Admittedly a great decade from Furman’s standpoint, but the landscape has changed tremendously in 35 years. You don’t just get home games anymore from FCS foes, or 2-for-1s. That’s long gone. Best to deal with reality instead of living in lah-lah land. Might be news to you that Boise State, Nevada, Georgia Southern, UCF, and Middle Tennesssee State are no longer FCS programs. Yep, times change.
More like primordial ooze burping bubbles of sulphur gas mixed with deer musk.
Sounds like we'll be playing a D2 (or worse) game then...bummer.apaladin wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 10:21 amIf we haven't by now look for another non D1 game. Most teams schedules are complete so hoping FU's is too. It has to be a hime game as we would only have 4 home games if not.
Although it hasn't been officially released this should be the final version of the 2020 Mercer Football Schedule
Not about the team, but it's facility. 1,500 seats on home side. Visitors side is recreation field bleachers. The Jackal wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:34 amWhy on earth wouldn't we go to CSU?
FCS program. Finished 3rd in Big South. In state.
Without question...the worst facilities in FCS. But I'll still take it over any game vs. an NAIA or DII opponent.apaladin wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 11:16 pmNot about the team, but it's facility. 1,500 seats on home side.
