If we had not gotten in the playoffs, we would have thought that we got robbed, deserved to be in , could have won , were better than we actually are ,etc, etc.

After the performance yesterday , we know where we stand. It was an embarrassing butt whooping. We know that we have a long way to go. There are so many things that we can work on, that I cannot even begin to list them. This is good to know now , so that we will work hard in the off season, rather than be complacent.
While the last 2 games were a huge disappointment , I think we are headed in the right direction. We only won 10 games in the 3 years prior to Clay Hendrix. In the last 3 years, we have gotten in the playoffs 2 years and shared the So Con title last year. That is progress !
I am looking forward to next year !!

Well said. I agree. Better to find out our weaknesses now than in our opener against Wofford next year as that game will influence who wins the Southern Conference next year in a huge way.

I have no reason to doubt it, but if Furman opens up with Wofford next year, shame on the Southern Conference. They can do better than putting their league's marquee matchup at the beginning of the season.

If this game is the first one of the year, it will show further demise of SoCon football. Maybe the commissioner is biased against Wofford and Furman? At the very least, doing this would show his ignorance.

CCH said we open with WC next year so I don't think there is any doubt.

I know it's in a previous topic but I don't feel like looking ... is Tennessee the only non-conference game locked in for next year? While I would prefer two home games to go along with road FBS and 8 conference games, if it means we have to go on the road to get a quality FCS game then so be it. I wonder if Charleston Southern was a one-off game or if there is a return there? I know some on here would hate a road game at CSU, but the reality is it's an in-state game (plenty of alums in Charleston), low costs and should be a win. But we would have to absolutely pair it with a home FCS game to at least get to 5 home, 6 away in an 11-game schedule. Based on the state of the SoCon, we might be (and probably deserve to be) a one-bid league until we prove otherwise. Might have to get to 9 wins to have a shot at an at-large if league title is split again.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
