We just need to take care of business Saturday. Our bunch is tough and will use it to get better. They are class acts as well as the entire staff.

I can see us playing Kennesaw State in the playoffs.

I have a hard time believing that 7 of the top 8 teams are in 2 conferences:

Missouri Valley:
# 1-NDSU
# 5-SDSU
# 6-Illinois State

Big Sky:
# 3-Montana
# 4-Sacramento State
# 7-Weber State
# 8-Montana State

I guess like the old days of the Southern Conference. I remember one year 3 of the 4 semi-finalist teams were Southern Conference teams. Still not sure I believe the above. Time will tell.

Only 8 of the top 25 teams are from the deep South. Times sure have changed in FCS football. Woffy kicked our butts, have a better record and still is ranked below us? Makes no sense. Proves these polls are a joke.

Furman and Wofford can play with anyone in the top 10. The "uber" elites at the top would be difficult but from 5 on back down both teams can compete. If they dont get paired in the second round I think both FU and Woffy can win multiple playoff games.

Wow - hard to believe we are ranked ahead of Wofford after Saturday's showing. Not complaining; for years we have been on the other side of the Coaches Poll trying to move up while lesser teams have hung around ahead of us. (Pleasantly) surprised.

You have to remember it’s body of work. . Not just head to head. If a 1-7 team beat an 8-0 team no way shoukd the 1-7 team surpass the now 8-1 team in poll. Granted in Fuman v Woff the records are close in many spots so head to might shoulda moved the needle a little more. Still

It’s always hard to get in poll. And it’s hard to fall out. Name recognition is a big thing to poll guys. They leave the current teams in the poll for a loss or two. Right or wrong they just do.

Again I want Austin Peay or whomever. Not KSU now. Not until these coaches prove we can stop a running team and complete passes vs a tough D

Yep, this essentially proves the name recognition argument. Furman has been ranked all year and made appearances in the Top 10. Wofford lost the pollsters when they dropped out of the Top 25 and are on the long climb back. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them ahead of us if we both win this week The body of work will be better once Wofford plays Citadel.

Yep and I think IF we had punched in another score or 2 I think we are prolly up another couple of spots. Can't believe WC moved up only 3 spots. I suspect we will see a similar drop in the STATS poll when it comes out later today and I wouldn't be surprised if WC is ahead of us in that one.

If it's body of work, then Woffy should be ahead of our Paladins. I have a feeling that even if we beat Point by 50 and Woffy beats The Citadel by 1 point, Woffy will move ahead of us in the last poll, if there is one. Is the playoff field the final regular season poll?

Keep in mind that we are actually #14 as #13 Florida A&M would win the MEAC and go to the Heritage Bowl but they are ineligible due to NCAA violations. How does one conference(Big Sky) have 4 teams in the top 8 and 3 of them have 3 losses?
