Looks like SC has upped their payouts. When we stopped playing them they were paying only $200k. Maybe that unknown SEC game for 2023 is SC?

I hope we never play the shamecocks again. There is no worse atmosphere for football. Bunch of drunks.

Me too, hoping it's another SEC team.

I'm surprised that Georgia State's payout is only 100K less than Virginia Tech's. Need those ACC schools to "show us the money!"

Incongruous: wanting local publicity and alsowanting to “never again play the shamecocks”
But I do agree about bad atmosphere and bunch of drunks

Gman, kindly tell us what the article says. When I go to your link, it tells me I have to subscribe. Further searching shows that to subscribe, I must pay $12 monthly. Presently do not want to pay that.
WHAT DOES ARTICLE SAY?
Giving a link is pointless if a subscription is required to open it.

The game will not count toward Southern Conference standings or playoff positioning, but Wofford’s visit to Clemson on Nov. 2 is critical for the program.

It will provide an opportunity for Wofford players to perform on a stage they do not experience in the Division I championship subdivision (FCS). There will be more than 80,000 fans in Memorial Stadium and more watching on a major television network.

It will also provide a payout that is a vital portion of Wofford’s athletic budget. Clemson has agreed to pay Wofford $360,000 to play that game.

Guarantee games are a fixture of college football, because they are a godsend for small college budgets. According to figures compiled by USA TODAY Sports, Power Five programs will pay more than $40 million for games against teams from the Group of Five and FCS — just in this opening weekend.

Clemson will pay $1.36 million for its two guarantee games:

$1 million to host Charlotte on Sept. 21
$360,000 to host Wofford on Nov. 2
Clemson also paid $360,000 to Furman last season. The USA TODAY Sports compilation did not include figures for games with no agreed cash payment, so Clemson’s Power Five nonconference games against Texas A&M and South Carolina were not listed.
South Carolina will net $700,000 on guarantee games.

UofSC and Power Five foe North Carolina will each receive $2 million for their neutral-site Belk Kickoff on Saturday in Charlotte.

South Carolina will pay:

$400,000 to host Charleston Southern on Sept. 7
$900,000 to host Appalachian State on Nov. 9
Coastal Carolina, a Group of Five program, will net $200,000 on four guarantee games in the first four weeks of the season.

Coastal Carolina will:

Pay $325,000 to host Eastern Michigan on Saturday
Receive $600,000 to visit Kanas on Sept. 7
Pay $225,000 to host Norfolk State on Sept. 14
Receive $150,000 to visit Massachusetts on Sept. 21
Furman will amass $750,000 from two guarantee games:

$325,000 to visit Georgia State on Sept. 7
$425,000 to visit Virginia Tech on Sept. 14

The Citadel and South Carolina State will each earn $400,000 to visit Georgia Tech and South Florida, respectively, on Sept. 14.
