Finished 13-38. Really not even competitive. Is it time for a change?

Much worse than previous years, definitely.
What caused this year’s bad results?

Lost great pitching and new coach wasn’t able to bring in recruits due to Furman’s heightened academic standards that will effect all sports.

Won 41 games last year, so placing the blame on poor pitching makes sense. A great to elite pitcher makes all the difference in the world in softball since they can virtually throw every game. And the Paladin pitching staff appears to be far from great to elite. ERA of 5.89 is unheard of for even marginally good college softball teams. And the staff walked more people than they struck out. Wow. The main pitcher was a senior, but the other three that pitched all return. Maybe they'll get better over the offseason ...?

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
