FWIW, I think Colin Kenney has the best chance of any of the 3 to meaningfully contribute next year.

True, but we are without a doubt going to need a newcomer big man to step up as well, between Lawrence, Beeker or someone yet to be signed

I expect the 5th starter next year to come down between Slawson, Lawrence, Beeker or a big man yet to be signed (whoever wins out this summer)
Plus factor in we will need 2 bigs possibly coming off the bench as well

Didn't we sign a guard from Indiana?
Yes
Here is the list of the 3 players we signed back in November:
http://www.furmanpaladins.com/sports/m- ... 1115nfpv0z
Reading back through that release, here's the last line:
"Furman returns to action on Thursday night when it hosts the North Greenville Crusaders for a 7 p.m. tip-off at Timmons Arena before traveling to Philadelphia, Pa., to face eighth-ranked Villanova at 5 p.m. Saturday on FS2."

If only we knew then how exciting those two games would be!

There don't seem to be that many available minutes at guard. I suppose Hunter and Lyons could rest a little more during games. Brown departs, but Bothwell and potentially Pugh could stand to play more, before getting into the freshmen.

A post player would have the most obvious opportunity . . .

With a mix of Bothwell, Pugh, Kenney, Clark, Lawerence, and hopefully Beeker.

Inbeed, Beeker or if we can sign another big man who is more ready, play one of those bigs and redshirt one of those bigs

For sure, I expect some really good battles this summer between Bothwell, Kenney and Pugh fighting for those guard minutes off the bench.

Let's hope more improvement from Clark as well as he could be the wild card, he made a solid leap this past season, if he does that again we will certainly be on to something, his versatility is his best asset for us as he can play positions 2, 3 and 4 if need be.

Don't expect a lot of scoring from whoever moves into the MR vacated position. Key will be if Mounce and Gurley can become consistent scorers and rebounders. A good goal for both of them would be 15 ppg. and 7 rpg. Expect Bothwell's role to significantly increase.

Excellent!
Hopefully he comes in ready to stroke the deep 3's, would be a huge boost

Per Twitter Daniel Sofield of Jackson Liberty HS in NJ will be taking an official visit today.

From a quick check on Sofield - Known for his shooting. He scored 59 in one game this year and 46 in another and averaged over 26 ppg. Also averaged over 7 rpg and 3 assists per game. Hit 92 three point shots this year. Hit 80% of his FTs. Lead his team to a division championship and the first postseason win in school history. (School opened in 2006) Verbal Commits lists him as 6'5" but most other places say 6'6."

From a January 4 story - LINK

"Sofield currently has scholarship offers from Colgate, Stony Brook, Columbia and NJIT and has recently received interest from Furman, Central Michigan, East Carolina and Bucknell.

"He is loyal," Antenucci said of Sofield. "He was loyal to this place by staying, because he could have left for another program. He was loyal to the baseball team - they needed him and they had a really good year with him. Then, his July was not typical of Daniel Sofield, so some coaches got a little itchy, but now they are starting to see what he is all about again.

"When a school like Furman calls after they beat the defending national champs (Villanova) and two days before beat another Final Four team from last year in Loyola-Chicago, and they are high on him - that tells you something. That speaks volumes to me."

That's a nice article. I wonder if his weight is listed correctly at 170? Seems awfully light for a 6'5" or 6'6" player.

From the video I've seen he is closer to the 190-200 range.
