I’m not privy to anything, I just was referring mainly to Devin’s situation and I am thinking the Andrew Taylor situation certainly could have been a distraction. That’s all. Nothing “scary” at all.

Easley is being called their highest rated recruit in 20 years or more. He has a 4 star rating from ESPN and 3 star ratings from 247Sports.com, Rivals.com, and Scout.com. Verbal Commits has listed offers from over two dozen schools including Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, and Butler. If you look closer, though, you notice that those schools offered two and even three years ago and his more recent offers were more in the nature of Coastal Carolina, Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, etc. That often indicates a player who matured earlier than his peers and got "placeholder" offers from schools that later backed off.
Still a solid recruit for the Mocs. His final choice was apparently made between Chattanooga, Massachusetts, and Loyola (IL). One to watch.
The ratings are spotty or non-existent outside the top 150 prospects or so. In terms of offers (quality and quantity), it's Andrew Taylor by far. The next rung would be Rafferty, Lyons, Slawson, maybe Hunter. But it can be an unfair comparison in some cases for guys that signed early - Bothwell for instance might have picked up a ton of offers had he still been available.Fessor wrote: ↑Mon Apr 02, 2018 4:28 amIf an "offer" cannot be accepted, then it's not truly an offer, no? In a case like this one, wouldn't it be more accurate for ESPN, Verbal Commits, etc. to say that a certain player got letters, calls, or had coaches attend their games rather than to say he received a scholarship offer?
Of the players in the NM and BR regime, who has been the highest rated recruit? Beans?
Sibley made his decision early. He probably would have had many more offers after leading the state of Tennessee in scoring as a high school senior.soconjohn wrote: ↑Mon Apr 02, 2018 7:09 pmRafferty was a three-star by some publications and Hunter was a two-star...Two pretty good recruits...ETSU was in on Devin Sibley early, but Furman put forth more effort and ended up getting him...If it would have been up to Steve Forbes, Furman might have never gotten Sibley...Thankfully, Murry Bartow was the HC then.

A few more transfers for SoCon teams - 5'8" Rashad Lewis and 6'5" Ryan Johnson are leaving Mercer and 6'4" freshman Jonathan Bryant II is leaving Chattanooga.
I am sure Mercer would like to sign 7'0" 245 Carlos Curry from Albany, GA who they offered today. Curry originally was headed to Middle Tenn. State before their coach left for Mississippi. Competition will be tough. Curry hasn't ruled out MTSU and Florida State was among the schools jumping in with an offer today.
Mike Young of Wofford is still following Niko Medved around. They offered Messiah Jones, a 6'6" forward from Chicago, who decommited from Drake after Niko left for CSU. Of course, Young didn't have any winning seasons with the Terriers until Larry Davis left for Cincinnati and Niko went to CSU and Wofford stole future SoCon POY Noah Dahlmann and a couple of other Minnesota kids Davis and Medved were recruiting. Then, when Young needed a point guard, he was pointed to Eric Garcia after asking Medved on the recruiting circuit one day.
