As expected the Paladins were lifeless today with a hangover from last night's debacle.. Wasted a great pitching effort from Dunleavy. Paladins left 11 runners on base missing many golden opportunities to score. Perfect example was the top pf the ninth with the score still tied at 1. FU had runners at first and third and no outs. 1, 2 and 3 hitters coming up and they went K,K,K. Another small ball failure when we moved the runner and the 1 and 2 hitters proceeded to strike out looking. Back to normal with the Paladins striking out 12 times. They have now struck out 28 times the last 2 games. Bottom line is FU drops a series they could easily have won 2-1 or even 3-0.

On the bright side, we are playing much better than expected now that we are in the midst of SoCon play. If we can get everyone healthy and keep them healthy, starting pitching is keeping us in most games. Currently middle of the pack in a very balanced SoCon - 2.5 games separate second from ninth place. We've already played the clear front-runner (Samford), so keep winning series at home and steal a few games on the road and we're gonna be OK.

And like most sports in the SoCon, all that matters most years is the season-ending tournament. So get ready for that and try to make some noise.
