What's everyone's prediction for tonight? I want to believe desperately that we will win. This is a big moment in the life of this program. We've come so far in the last few years, but we've still seen one disappointment after another in the postseason from the Wofford loss in the finals to earlier than expected losses in each of the remaining SoCon tourneys to disappointing finishes in the other postseason tourneys over the last few years. We need to finally turn that corner. Beat one of the elite mid-majors with an elite coach at home. Get the students excited for the future (and a trip to Clemson). We need everyone on the team tonight to show up. It can't be an MR and JL show. Play with the looseness that we saw at Loyola and at Villanova. Or at home against ETSU or UNCG. We are behind you. We believe in you. Let's get it done. Go Paladins!

Wichita State is a young but very good basketball team from a good program and league. This is a very important game as far as the Furman basketball brand is concerned. A win over a team like this elevates the whole program in much the same way as the early season Villanova win. Basketball cognoscenti were well aware that FU did not beat the same Nova team that won the tournament last year since 3 or 4 of those players are in the NBA now. But we did beat a program that has won multiple national championships, Big East titles, etc. That win was a big deal - especially since they came back to win the Big East again this year and are in the Big Dance again as well. I think WSU has played in 10 or 11 straight NIT's or NCAA tournaments. By any standard, that is a very good program and beating them would prove our Nova win was no fluke. Although they don't shoot the ball particularly well, they can throw some real size at us ( 6'8", 6'9", 6'11" and 7'1") and we don't match up well with size like that. Once again, we will likely take a lot of 3's and we need to make a lot of 3's to win - likely 40% or better. After donning purple colored glasses, I see an 85-75 win.

We had our shot against UNCG in the semifinals to get to face Wofford in the SoCon finals on ESPN, came up a little short

Well here is our redemption opportunity, win tonight and we get to face Clemson in NIT round 2 on ESPN
