Agree with that tweet. UNCG is very similar to Wofford in that the Spartans don't have a ton of great wins, but they have no bad losses ... at LSU, at Kentucky, vs. Wofford (although the Terriers beat them by 29). All three of the top teams really share that note, with Furman's OT loss to Samford the worst of the bunch, but the Paladins claiming by far the best win at Nova.

FYI-Samford was not OT. This is a huge game. We really need this one bad. The only NIT projections I could find has UNCG in the first four out and Furman the next 4 out. Why does Joe Lunardi have CU in the field now at a #10 seed? They literally have one good win over a way over-rated VPI team. If you play in a power 5 all you have to do is win most of your OOC games and most against the bottom feeders in your league and out of 8-10 chances for a "quality" league win, just win one and you're in.

Oops. Was thinking it was OT and didn't feel like double checking. How about Furman's 2-point loss to Samford was the worst of the bunch ...

Basically if you're in a power conference, you need to be above .500 overall and in the ballpark within a few games of .500 in your conference. That's really it. Pretty sad. UNCG and Furman appear to both be very deserving this year if Wofford wins the league.

I have a really good feeling about this Furman team from here on out. UNCG likes to think they are being overlooked, but recently FU has been the one on the outside looking in and they KNOW they can compete with the best teams in the conference and country (see Villanova). The defense after the Samford break down has been outstanding and I see them taking down a UNCG team that relied on a surprisingly good 3 point shooting night by Miller and one of their bench players (Hamilton, 15 pts) the first time around. Let's go Dins!!

Looks like a pretty small crowd, maybe 1500 not counting students. Need the students to show up and a good walkup.
Saturday tix or going well.

Yep Saturday will probably be full capacity, and yeah tomorrow we need to hope for a great walk-up crowd and big big student support for this showdown!

UNCG is unique from maybe any opponent Furman plays in that they have been able to challenge teams in in the 1-2-2 press with their length and athleticism...It has caused problems for Furman each of the past three seasons...Furman committed a season-high 21 turnovers in the meeting earlier this season, which off-set the best shooting percentage in a loss this season for the Paladins.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
