Charlotte just pulled their offer because he is still entertaining offers from other schools.

I understand the business side for him, but hate to see a HC shopping new jobs when their team is still in the playoffs. Lord knows Furman fans understand that pain.

One of the unintended consequences of the "early signing period" is rearing it's head. If you're a bigger school with $ to spend, you want your coach NOW so he can salvage some sort of a Dec recruiting class.....with the FCS playoffs going well into Dec for the top teams, I'd expect this to be an issue going forward....

I get that if you ultimately want to go power 5 you gotta conquer group of 5 first, but I can't imagine he'll find that much of a better situation at ECU or Charlotte than he currently has at JMU.

You would think but seems JMU is paying 500-600k to Houston, ECU will pay new coach somewhere between 1.5-1.8 million, so that's probably going to be about 3x more money, plus if successful you are 1 step away from P5 job which I think is what he ultimately wants to achieve

Fair. I would do the same.
