NDSU 27 - Samford 9: credit to Sammy, they gave it a good effort but join a lot of SoCon teams that go to Fargo and lose. Interesting that they didn’t start Hiers when he was able to play in the 2nd half and perform admirably. Of course it is December, so no one should be surprised that NDSU is winning. NDSU supposedly had a lot of injuries though so I guess we’ll see how that plays out next week.

Montana St - William & Mary: near end of first and it’s a physical game as expected. MSU started to lean on Ifanse and got a FG. Follow up with TD next drive. 10-0 MSU

UIW - Sacramento St: Sac St has looked better early. Sac is bring a lot of pressure to make Scott get rid of the ball quick. O’Hara got the Sac offense moving and lead them to a TD. 7-0 Sac with 6ish left in first.

Holy Cross - SDSU: the lone Saturday game this week

UIW answers to tie it at 7. #12 on UIW has been whistled for 2-3 PI’s already.

Montana State now up 17-0. Little disappointing. Thought W&M had a shot to challenge MSU but it’s not going that way so far.

I watched the Sammy game earlier. They were competitive with NDSU early, but then the Bison ran over them and wore them down like they run over everybody. Not sure what Sammy was doing with their QBs.

Watching Montana State right now. They look quite a bit better than W&M on both sides of the ball.

If Sammy starting QB could play the whole second half why couldn’t he play the first half before it got out of hand. I think the winner of UIW and Sac.St beats NDDU next week. Montana State is just killing W&M. They are averaging almost 11 yds per play while throwing very little. Didn’t realize Sac. St used a 2 qb system. That #10 can scoot. The UIW SSU game is really entertaining so far.

Months of sleep deprivation from a baby guaranteed I feel asleep on the couch before halftime. I hate I missed the end of UIW/Sac. Seemed like an absolute circus reading Twitter this morning!

UIW 66 - Sac St 63

Montana St looks really good. I thought W&M would be able to somewhat match how physical MSU was but boy was I wrong. Assuming SDSU wins today, that is going to be a great game next weekend

MSU 55 - W&M 7

1. The CAA is overrated, and the selection committee needs to recognize that. The W & M QB was awful and that made them a completely one-dimensional team.
2. Why did the Samford coach not start Hiers? He did not appear to be hurt when he did get in. They have a high- powered offense with him and none with the freshman QB in the first half. NDSU is not a super team this year.
3. This Furman team is competitive with the top teams in the nation right now. They got better as the season went on and have reason to be optimistic going forward. With WCI and Mercer also on the rise, the SoCon is a better league than the CAA.
4. Montana State looks very good. We coulda/shouda/didnt quite beat a very good team in Incarnate Word last week. They may just win it all.
5. Holy Cross may be in way over their heads today. Hope not. Like the idea of a Patriot League team being competitive on the national level. We will see.
