Good article by Chuck Culpepper in today’s Washington Post.
Bemoans overuse of the word culture in football but nevertheless says “The culture within a program does seem paramount, time upon time.” Quotes several JMU players & former players, including a number of transfers from Big Ten & ACC, about how well everyone works together & helps everyone else. “...everyone wants ... everyone to do well... no resentment.” “Player upon player reports an exhilarating absence of cliques.” “They [all] understand the principles and values of the program, the standards and expectations.” “Culture, once established, has strengthened to entrenched. “ “ ...
Beyond football and toward something human, something in the range of successful human organizations. The habits ricochet across the seasons.” A large emphasis on the vital importance of senior leadership. No jealousy or resentment evident within the team. Everyone helps one another. Help begets help begets help.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
