I was surprised at the considerable press which last year's tournament received, and I got the sense it was due to more than just being the inaugural. FU's Natalie Srinivasan made it to the final round last year and tied for 17th. This year she ranks TENTH nationally, and NBC Sports will broadcast the final three hours on April 4. Go Natalie!

GREENVILLE, S.C. Furman senior Natalie Srinivasan, who ranks tenth nationally and 37th internationally in the latest World Amateur Golf Rating, has been invited to compete in the Second Annual Augusta National Women's Amateur, which will be held April.

An international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play. A cut will take place after 36 holes, advancing the leading 30 players to the final round at Augusta National Golf Club. In the event of a tie after 54 holes, the winner will be decided by sudden-death playoff.

The first 36 holes will be contested over two days on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, April 1-2. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 3. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 4, and will feature the top 30 competitors who made the cut.

Provided she remain an amateur, the 2020 Augusta National Women's Amateur Champion will receive an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women's Amateurs, the 2020 U.S. Women's Open, the 2020 Women's British Open, and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships for which she is eligible for one year.

NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours of live final-round coverage at Augusta National from noon until 3 p.m. on April 4. NBC Sports will also provide pre-event promotion across NBCUniversal's portfolio, while Golf Channel will deliver highlights, live reports and news coverage throughout the event, including on-site during the first two competitive rounds at Champions Retreat. Additionally, Golf Channel's "Live From the Masters" will commence on Friday, April 3, from Augusta National and wrap ANWA coverage on Saturday, April 4.

"I am so excited for Natalie to be invited to the August National Women's Amateur for the second consecutive year," said Furman head coach Jeff Hull. "It was such a great event last year, and I am sure it will be even better this year. Natalie is such a talented player and has worked very hard to be where she is. I am so proud of her and look forward to April in Augusta."

A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Srinivasan competed in the inaugural ANWA in April of 2019, where she advanced to the final round at Augusta National and finished in a tie for 17th after posting a 73 in round three.

"This event is so prestigious, and I am honored to have the opportunity to play again this year," said Srinivasan. "Last year's event was absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait to see how this year's tournament will compare. I am so glad that I will be able to finish the last part of my final semester at Furman at the Augusta National Women's Amateur."

Srinivasan won two tournaments, the Glass City Invitational and the Lady Paladin Invitational, and paced the Paladins with a 70.67 stroke average over nine rounds in September of 2019. A Golfweek Preseason All-American, she shot a 5-under 211 to claim individual medalist honors at the inaugural Glass City Invitational in Toledo, Ohio. She opened the tournament with a 2-under 70 in each of the first two rounds and closed with a 1-under 71 for a four-stroke victory. Later in September at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, South Carolina, Srinivasan also tallied a 5-under 211 for a two-stroke victory. She carded a 1-over 73 and a 2-under 70 in the opening rounds before finishing strong with a 4-under 68 in the final round.

A three-time All-SoCon selection, Srinivasan earned a Golfweek All-American honorable mention citation during the 2018-19 season and concluded her junior campaign ranked 42nd nationally. She led the league and the Paladin team with a 72.7 stroke average over 29 rounds.

Srinivasan, who competed in the 2017 U.S. Women's Open, earned a WGCA All-America honorable mention citation and claimed Golfweek third team All-America honors during her sophomore campaign in 2017-18. She tied the Furman low-round record at the time with a 65 in the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Tallahassee Regional, where she went on to finish third. The 2018 Southern Conference Player of the Year, Srinivasan concluded the season ranked 26th nationally after leading Furman with a 72.36 stroke average over 36 rounds last year, the second-best single season stroke average ever for a Paladin women's golfer.
