Quick take on the new offers -

Smith is a lanky, smart, skilled post with 11 listed offers on Verbal Commits. Most from CAA, SoCon, A10 schools. He has no listed offers from ACC or other P5 schools. His passing ability and shooting are impressive but he isn't the most physical player right now. A lot of potential.
Hien's game looks similar to incoming freshman Jonny Lawrence - good athlete with a good looking outside shot. He has other offers from Elon, Navy, San Diego, and Toledo.
Sivills is an aggresssive scorer with a complete package of three point range touch, mid-range shooting off the dribble and the ability to take it all the way to the hoop. He has the most listed offers of the four - 13. They include Wofford, Samford, Belmont, Lipscomb, Murray State, and Rice.
Anderson's VC entry only shows an offer from the Paladins, although other sources mention a second unnamed D1 offer. He is a quick, slick point guard with a very quick, smooth jumpshot. I was impressed with his passing highlights I saw - a lot of no-look passes - and his quickness to the hoop off the dribble.

Newest reported offer- Mason Madsen, 6'3" 175 lb. guard from Rochester, MN Mayo HS.

Madsen is regarded as a good athlete and great shooter who also is good attacking the basket with the dribble. He has offers from Wisconsin- Green Bay, Northern Iowa, Bradley, and William and Mary. His brother Gabe (two inches taller and fifteen pounds lighter) is also highly regarded and has offers from some of the same schools plus offers from Marquette and Virginia Tech and serious interest from many other Big Ten and Big 12 level schools. They have expressed some interest in playing together so it is interesting the Paladin offer is only for Mason at the moment.

Interesting timing. Yesterday he received an offer from Western Carolina after a visit to their campus.

From the videos I've seen he appears to be a classic pass first point guard. Anderson looks like a very good shooter but his ball handling skills and court vision really jump out and grab your attention. He should thrive in a fast paced game and breaking down the defenses with the drive.

Anderson only lost 2 games this past season, averaged 20 points a game with 6 assists and shot 42% from 3pt line! Love the sound of all that. Great addition. Loved seeing Coach Williams referenced in the tweet as well. He seems to get after it! More offers going out after seeing a slow rate the past year and now we get a June commitment from a player that has other offers in the league. Keep it up!

Good article on Anderson here

https://www.thedailytimes.com/sports/ma ... cdea1.html

Seems like he has some key attributes we look for:

1) very strong work ethic and desire to “get better”

2) really good outside shot.

And according to various sources he had an offer from ETSU and was drawing interest from Woffy, Belmont, Lipscomb.....

Even though he has committed to FU, I assume other teams can continue to recruit him? Especially since he has committed so early? Lots of time before he can actually sign.

Yes, but it seems like there is more respect for commitments in basketball versus football.

Heard via the grapevine that this kid was at the top of our guard board, and they compare him to a “Rafferty like” player regarding his intangibles.

It is unethical, but has happened many times before. Other schools pass a message down the whisper line and the player decommits and gets a new batch of offers. It can work the other way too. A coach accepts a commitment but decides later the recruit isn't as good as earlier thought and lets him know that the school won't be signing him. This is especially true for guys who commit very early - as sophomores or juniors.

Anderson doesn't have prototypical high-major size or athleticism. You never know for sure, but I doubt any big name schools offer him. Presumably he didn't commit so early just to flip to another mid-major down the road.

This situation really isn't comparable to the super early commits from high profile, 5-star recruits. Those guys are thinking marketing, NBA, etc.

Anderson is a smooth point guard - I love to see young players that play in control and it appears the game slows down for them.
