How do you feel. For the first time in 39 years FU expects it's name to be called even though for the NIT and not the NCAA. In any of the previous 38 years I would have been really excited to be in the NIT. This year however it sort of seems bittersweet. Do you feel the same? This has been an incredible year and the team has been awesome. It is just a shame that the system is so biased and prejudiced toward the power conferences. The system just keeps on rewarding mediocrity. The power 5 teams start the season in the tournament and really have to have a bad season and play their way out. It's not fair by any means but the power conferences control who gets in and who doesn't. They are not going to take money out of their own pockets to be fair. CharlieFU, could we not get up a lawsuit against the NCAA for unethical and unfair practices?? :D

Yes I know we got in the NIT in '91 but it was not expected and not the same by any means. For those of you that are too young to remember when FU was in the NCAA, we are all really in the same boat as the older fans have never experienced anything like it is today. Believe me back then you had to hunt for a game on TV and of course there was no such thing as social media. You really had to rely on the newspaper. Yes there was ESPN but it was nothing like it is today. If I remember correctly most of the games were syndicated to local stations and they had to pick the games up.

With all that said, it is great to actually be in the conversation for the first time ever and we have received a lot of positive publicity. This has really been a fun season, one like never before and the team has done enough to be in the tournament. Unfortunately the system is not friendly to teams like Furman. it just hurts to finally have a season worthy of inclusion only to be shunned by a dirty system. The NIT will be a nice consolation and I am excited to see MR and company at least one more time. Go Paladins!!

If we sneak into the NCAAs I’ll be ecstatic.

An NIT bid and a good matchup/bracket will make me very happy.
