We lost @ ETSU
We lost @ UNCG

This is our last chance to beat one of the top 3 SoCon teams on the road

Today's loss takes some luster off this game but I still think WC is licking their chops and can't wait to play FU. They've been waiting for 2 months. They will be ready and sky high. As of now WC looks like the best team in the league. On paper this looks like a beatdown. Just comparing games against ETSU and UNCG, WC won both by an average of 23. We lost both by average of 16.5 points.

But Wofford struggled a bit at VMI. Anything can happen in the socon. If we can beat VILLANOVA on the road we certainly
Can beat Wofford.

In the SoCon no doubt, playing and winning on the road is harder than winning at home. Should be a close hard fought game.

FWIW I see Woffy and ETSU battling for 1-2. Then UNCG finishing 3rd. Then a cluster battling for 4-5 seeds including FU, WCU, Chatty, Mercer and Sammy. VMI and Citadel battle for 9-10.

So we're going to have to surprise 3 or 4 teams at tournament time, or else be disappointed once again, by having the 39th consecutive year of absence from the NCAA tournament (1981 through 2019) and by having the 45th consecutive year since winning a game in the NCAA tournament (our one and only ever, 1974).

There are some lawyers on this board aren't there? Can we get a cease and desist order to prevent whining, handwringing, and self pity around here?

At least until sometime AFTER the season. The moaning over a 15-3 record with all 3 losses being on the road as underdogs is ridiculous.

Good idea.

Unconstitutional.
Also impractical, as well as ridiculous (since that's previous writer's description of others' comments) to suggest "waiting until at least until sometime AFTER the season", at which time it will be totally impossible for anybody to do anything to try something additional or different to improve the outcome of this season.
I suppose someone will of course reply saying that everybody who can do anything (coaches, athletes, maybe fans) is already doing everything in the world to improve and the games we lost would have been lost in any case and future games will be won or lost in any case and that anyone who would suggest otherwise, or who would suggest frustration, is a heretic.

Would just have to surprise 2 if we finish 4th or 5th. First game would be against either the 4 or 5th place team and then would only have two games against either WC, ET or UNCG. 3 games total to win the tourney which is the least amount anyone can win to win it. Lower than 5 then yes it would be 3 surprises needed.

So if we finish 5th and are playing 4th place team, we would not consider winning that game a surprise?
But if we finish 4th, it is reassuring to consider that we would only need a maximum of 2 surprises to win the tourney.
It is reassuring.

Correct, the gap seems to be with 1.2, and 3 at least right now. 4 or 5 doesn't really matter and would be no surprise either way. Of course IF we could beat WC Saturday that would take things in a different direction. The game Saturday is in the must win category if we have any hopes to finish in the top 3. I do believe we could beat any of them at home. Would love to win at least 2-3 at home.

Don't want to jinx him but MR has really improved his free throw shooting the last 4 games. In those 4 games he is 29-31 including 10-10 yesterday. Way to go MR!!

I believe this website is based in Georgia, which would be outside your jurisdiction.

Case dismissed.

Thanks very much. Officer Burrell has some documents for you to sign.
