Davidson ranked as high as 18th that year.
They finished 22-4.
They beat #8 Ohio state that year.
Losses were to Duke, West Virginia, Furman (the 15-point loss to Furman was their worst loss of the year), and VMI (a 1-point loss in the SoCon tournament).
They were regular season champions.
The NEXT season, they were 24-2, 10th-ranked nationally, but they also did not win the tourney that year. They lost in the tournament semi finals by 2 to WVU, in OT. The only other loss that year was to St. Joseph’s (PA) in the second game of the season.
... Be that as it may, BEAT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN on 12/11/2018 !

Hopefully there will be a huge student turnout again for the games this coming week:
Furman returns home to host Charleston Southern on Tuesday, December 11, in the "Last Day of Class Bash" at Timmons Arena at 7 p.m. before entertaining UNCW on Saturday, December 15.

When Furman beat Davidson on Feb. 13th, 1964 70-55, DC was undefeated and ranked #2 in the country in at least one poll but definitely a top 5 team at the time. Of course this was the 10th anniversary of Frank Selvy's 100 point game. I watched this game with a friend up in the last row of the high end of the old Memorial Auditorium.

Thanks for the clarification about what DC was ranked at the time. I think the rankings that I referred to (#18, #10) were perhaps the final end-of-year rankings. It's great that you were there!

The game that we won against DC (one of their only 4 losses of the year, and their worst loss of the year, by 15 points) was in the 1963-1964 season. So it was in Feb 1964. I think I am correct on that.

Virginia had a tussle with VCU today. VCU lead at times in the second half but Virginia ended up with a seven or eight point win.
