Signee Colin Kenney is having a hot start to his senior season. He scored 42 points against rival St. Joseph's of South Bend, IN. That ties his career high, which was also against St. Joseph's.
"There was no stopping Kenney in this game as he exhibited the full arsenal, slashing repeatedly to the rim to go along with three 3s.

"He's got that killer instinct in him," Marquette coach Fred Mooney said. "He smells it, he's going to go get it. The thing is, the team is going to get better when he relies on them more, but they were giving him some lanes. He couldn't turn those down. He saw the sea part and he just went to the rack. When they backed off him and let him shoot, they got their hands down, he shot over them. When they got on him, he went around them."
Kenney is averaging 35 ppg after three games.

Senior Colin Kenney erupted for 41 points – one off his career-high – Saturday morning in a 76-65 victory versus Greenfield-Central at the Lebanon Holiday Tourney outside Indianapolis.

Kenney’s prolific performance began with 11 first-quarter points. He hit his first of five three-pointers in the period to go with three two-pointers and a pair of free-throws. Junior Jake Tarnow pitched in four in the early going to help Marquette to a 20-15 lead after eight minutes.

The Blazer advantage swelled to double digits in the second. Dayn Staab and Zach Arthur both hit treys while Kenney added eight more to his point total. Marquette led 36-26 at the intermission.

Kenney put the Blazers on his back in the third quarter to pull away for good. He went off for 18 points – four threes and three two-point field goals – to shove Marquette ahead by 19.

Tarnow joined Kenney in double figures via four points in the fourth quarter. Kenney eclipsed the 40-point mark in the final frame with four more of his own. Overall, he amassed 11 two-pointers, canned five triples, and converted four of his five free-throw tries. By virtue of his point total, Kenney (1,476) surpassed Jim Retseck (1,474) for second on the Marquette boys’ all-time scoring list.

Out in the lobby before the game we saw Daniel Fowler meet what looked to be a recruit and his mother. He took them down into the locker room. What a great game for him to watch FU with great energy in the building! It is a great asset to have DF as a coach in recruiting and a former player under CBR.

Colin Kenney scored 22 points in a 69-55 victory for Marquette Catholic over Andrean H.S. and became the leading career scorer in school history with 1,573 and counting.

The former record holder, Ryan Fazekas, signed with Providence originally and later transferred to Valparaiso where he is currently a junior leading the team in scoring.
