Elon is 3-5 but they start 4 seniors so we will need to bring our 'A' game on the road for sure
Only one D1 win, the first game of the year by 4 over Manhattan. If we play well it's prolly a W. If we play like we have the last 3 games, it's prolly an L.

Hopefully we will 'bring it'!

Elon's starting lineup in their last game was big - 6'11", 6'9", 6'5", 6'4", 6'2". They are missing starting point guard Dainan Swoope with ankle problems. He has been their best three point shooter although the other starters are OK. Wings Steven Santa Ana and Sheldon Eberhardt and 6'9" forward Tyler Seibring are their top scorers. Seibring and Santa Ana are good three point threats and Eberhardt is their top assist man. Despite the size they were whipped on the boards by Boston U. in their last game, at Elon, and lost despite Boston U. only hitting 4-23 three point shots.

Elon's new arena: Schar Center

Can someone explain to me the transformation that Elon has made in roughly the last 20 - 30 years?

I know why they've done it ("Go big or go home"), but how have they done it? At this point, they have successful alums and parents of alums (e.g., the Schar's), but how did they do it at the start? CharlieFU, that's your home state, any intel on this?

I know first hand that they're very good at recruiting kids from large metropolitan areas, many of whom have successful parents.

Good question, I do know the Elon enrollment numbers of 6,000+ is a plus for them (more than Wake Forest and about same as Duke), beyond that not sure

I do not know the history, other than it started on the academic side, and then they upped their game on athletic side.

I think their recruiting has probably targeted northerners who want a smaller college experience.

They have done well, all the way around.

CONTRAST that with HIgh Point which got a president with a bunch of his own $$$ to spend, built all this country club like atmosphere, targeting northerners as well---just not the same caliber student and the school therefore does not have near the reputation that Elon has.
