OK gang, here is a question for all of you. When was the last time that Furman had more votes in the Top 25 polls than Davidson?? I am sure we have some historians out there who can answer this. Last week we both got 1 vote, and got me wondering.

I don't have the answer, but I will guess 1990.
I'll have to research more later to give a guess that I may feel more sure about.
As a clue, I believe it would have been some year between 1933 and 1990.
1990 appears to be the last time we beat them twice in the same season, with no losses.
I do know that during the 4 years I was at Furman, we were 3-6 against them. One of the 3 was beating them in the semifinals of the 1971 tournament, when we won the tournament.
**** OK, after further research:
Would NOT have been 1990.
I am now replacing that guess with 1980.
If not 1980, then I believe it may be during one of the following seasons: 79-80, or 78-79, or 74-75, or 52-53.
Again, my final guess is 1980.

Let's hope LSU continues its rise in the polls...until 12/21/18.

Also to note, the Furman basketball program will have won 13 of their last 14 games dating back to last year with a win this Wednesday. If you remember we won 7 straight before falling to ETSU in the SoCon semifinals.
This program is hot right now!

We have a good chance to get into the AP top 25 poll tomorrow, should be interesting to see how the Villanova success against Oklahoma St. and #14 Florida St. translates for both them and us as well in tomorrows poll.

Have to go from 50 to 150 points and not sure what the driver will be.

Us continuing to win, other teams continuing to lose, and the success of Villanova

Something else to watch out for, Loyola is 4-2 (lost to FU and Boston College)
They play #6 Nevada at home Tuesday night, should be an interesting result

I think 'Nova gets back in the top 25 and we get less votes than last week. Hope I am wrong. Bad news teams 20-25 did not lose this week. Good news teams 14-19 all lost at least once.
