JP really underwhelmed today but was happy with how we contained him. Always extra pressure playing against a former team. On a side note, I heard his parents got into it with some students and were making threats, getting in their faces, etc. Not exactly impressive

There will be hard feelings when you lose a top player ...feels like the pros with trades..don't like it at all..

Seems like he will not have a very big role on that team, the price he pays for getting a 1 season pay check...

Could be but don’t think that is true. He started yesterday and think he will be there starting PG next week. From all indications they are pretty high on him.

I am sure they are high on him that's why they paid him, but he's going to have to just handle the ball and take a back seat all year to some other guys, he won't get the green light for many shots...

Don't agree Hoop. A point guard's first responsibility is distributing the ball and not make turnovers, and he did a good job at that. It was his first game with a new team and he wasn't looking to score much. Better to blend in slowly and set up his new teammates.
He will shoot when he needs to shoot and drive to the basket and score when he needs to score as the season progresses. He's still a great player, just wearing a different color uniform.
Also, looks like Anderson can not only handle the ball and shoot, he can play D too!

Will be interesting to see how he does statistically by March and the others former DINS too for that matter (Joe Anderson, Carter Whitt, Marcus Foster, Alex Williams, JP Pegues)
Also was happy to see Nick Anderson have a well rounded game, him and Smith in our starting backcourt is going to be solid!

He still made the shot. I'd still buy him a beer.

Slawson and Bothwell admitted seeing Gurley struggle to get a good footing at Alabama contributed to their decision to stay...
I am not rooting against JP at Auburn, but if he does wind up struggling to do much it won't be a bad thing for us going forward to show our current/future players as another case study...

I still like him, but he's gone. Let Bruce Pearl buy him the beer.

I think the reason he is gone is the Bruce Pearl already bought him a whole bar.

That might be so, but the price tag of those beers is what will typically make the decision.
