I predict we will win tomorrow with great defense early & getting hot offensively going into halftime!

We have won 6 or our last 7 tourney games (as has UTC). I think that experience will help us beat Sammy. We also know about our last 3 games against them ( a whooping down there last year, a 10 point win in Greenville and the 5 point lead with 40 secs left LOSS down there this year). We have the poise to do it .

Could be a 3rd-year-in-a-row Furman-UTC finals if Furman makes it.

GO DINS!

Remind me, is Samford the team that has the full court press almost the entire game?

Yes
Our guys know what is coming. Samford will be super aggressive from the start, trying to wear us down. This is the game that we need the bench to step up big time.

ESPN says 25% chance. I disagree.

No kidding. Lazy analysis (they prolly looked at KenPom and moved on). Figure we beat them soundly at home, then came within a whisker at their place. Plus their style of play is exhausting with no day’s rest. We’ve got a better than even shot.

Whitt is going to be a key to winning the game. He can quickly break their press, drive to the basket and pass off to the open guys. If he plays at least 15 minutes, we win.

It's time to deflate BuckyBall.

Anyone know of health updates about Williams? Saw him limping off the court last night right after the game. Health updates about Samford players?

It's an interesting view on "Bucky Ball."

Samford had early exits from the tournament in 2023 and 2022 despite being the no worse than 3 seed. Their basketball team, like their football team, prefers this frenetic pace that, at times, can work as a disadvantage. I suspect one of the disadvantages to their style can show up in tournaments, where you have to play multiple games in multiple days.

Samford knows Furman can beat them. They know we handled them easily in Greenville. They know we had them on the ropes in their building. They know we have an experienced tournament team that seems to get better with pressure. They know we just shut down the SoCon's best scorer last night.

Their coaches, fans, and players will never say this, but I suspect that Furman is the last team Samford wanted to face in this tournament.

On paper, top 2 offense vs bottom 2 of 3 defense.

Bigs gonna be big in this one.

Hold Sam to around 80 and its a W for Dins

I like how Alex played D yesterday

Also like that VanderWal, Whitt and Hughey played limited minutes and should be fresh.
