Just updated about an hour ago. Has FU still a 14 seed playing Gonzaga in Albany, NY. Don’t put a lot of stock in Lunardi as his seedings, brackets are usually not very accurate, but here it is for what it is worth.

That would guarantee that only a few high dollar donors would be able to attend.

would be nice if we could bump up to a 13 or 12 seed.but really happy to be in the tourny and avoid the play in games.just like the socon tourney just survive, win and advance.

Will we get the 14 seed? I would love for us to get a 13 seed - just seems like there are a lot of 13 and 12 level upsets.

13 seed would be a legit expectation based on history....all per KenPom

2023 - SoCon rank 20; Furman ?? (27-7)
2022 - SoCon rank 12; Chattanooga 13 seed (27-8)
2021 - SoCon rank 14; UNCG 13 seed (21-9)
2020 - SoCon rank 15; ETSU "projected" at 11 seed (30-4) - no tourney
2019 - SoCon rank 13; Wofford 7 seed (30-5))
2018 - SoCon rank 22; UNCG 13 seed (27-8)
2017 - SoCon rank 14; ETSU 13 seed (27-8)
2016 - SoCon rank 19; Chattanooga 12 seed (29-6)

Lunardi has some questionable 13 seeds like 20-7 Yale so yes I think we could get a 13. Like I said Lunardi is not very good at his seeds after the first few so take his stuff with a grain of salt.

13 or 14 seed in Greensboro would be nice!

Being in ATL, Birmingham would be nice too. Or the quick flight down to Orlando.

We will move up when some of the 1-bid leagues have a lower ranked team win some championships.

You know, if it has to happen, a chance to upset Gonzaga with the whole world watching wouldn’t be completely horrible. That’s the kind of think that launches a program to a whole other level of respect and credibility if you pull it off or even come close.

Move up if
CAA Charleston loses
MAAC Iona loses
Summit Oral Roberts loses
ASUN Liberty loses
MAC Not Toledo or Kent State
Ivy Yale loses
A10 not VCU or Dayton
WAC not Sam Houston or Utah Valley
WCC not St Mary’s or Gonzaga

Even if the above teams get an atlarge bid it will introduce another team to the field with a rank/resume inferior to Furman’s

Do I remember correctly that Gonzaga was once called a Cinderella team? That would be very cool to beat them!

20 years ago everyone referred to them as Giant Killers. They would qualify as like an 8 or 10 seed.

..... Now they are the giants

Give us a chance to get even with Malachi Smith from last year as well.
