Great work by the administration!

The 6,199 attendance today surpassed the 6,096 vs. Wofftard at the Well in 2020

The attendance today is also the largest crowd for the season for any SoCon member :D

The second largest SoCon crowd this season belongs to Citadel hosting College of Charleston 4,630

I am not sure this is correct. Probably before your tme but you’re forgetting the sold out/standing room only crowds at the old auditorium back in the 70’s early 80’s.

I am pretty sure the Brown Box only held 5,000 for basketball. Maybe we can get Dan to verify the record attendance with Jordan Caskey. You would think that we would make a huge deal of the attendance if it was indeed an all time record. I looked through the basketball press guide, but did not see any info for the largest attendance records. https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/side ... ok2023.pdf

I found this from the 1974-1975 season. The attendance numbers look unofficial, but there were no games at the Brown Box that came close to topping last night’s attendance. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/sc ... edule.html

The 1991 win over No. 10 ETSU was sold out and probably the most exciting game I've ever attended. I'll never forget that one!

We should play more games at The Well.

Don’t remember exactly but capscity for GMA was north of 6,000, not 5,000. I remember an Alabama concert had over 7,000. Wikipedia lists it as 7,500 multi-purpose arena. IIRC capacity for basketball was about 6,200-6,300.

Wikipedia is wrong about 7,500. For concerts, the floor was open for seating, thus a capacity of over 6,000. For basketball, it was no more than 5,500.

I saw plenty of games at the brown box, attendance there never topped 6k even when sold-out and jam packed, yesterday was the largest

When the Box was packed to the rafters it was a much better environment than yesterday.

I for one am not a fan of playing in a cavern with the curtains drawn.

That's not the point of this thread at all, lol, you guys kill me

Be thankful for the 6,199 that showed up yesterday without getting defensive
