Smart move. Normally Earl's win-loss record would be an issue (despite the fact he had a very tough job at VMI) . . . but Earl has clearly improved/modernized VMI's offensive scheme over the past few years in a very impressive way. Will be interesting to see how he changes his approach with the ability to recruit more effectively.
Let's see if this prompts Malachi Smith to leave UTC since they did not hire an assistant, does he transfer to USC?

Wonder if Earl is good at using the transfer portal. Thats the UTC way. High school recruiting, not so much.
