Based on history, USC can still screw this up. The Board of Trustees meets on Friday to approve the contract. Why wait that long? Can you imagine the pressure the BOT is feeling to not make this hire. Look for anything to happen before the official announcement.

What a horrible fan base SC has, first they cry about not landing a guy that could only win by cheating and now this crying over hiring Paris :?

Are they crying about Paris? He should run!
No worries for us. If they don’t want him, they really don’t want CBR. They gotta have a bigger name. Maybe they should join the Larry Brown club. He’s only about 82.

Bruce Pearl would be the perfect coach for USC. I've seen a lot of coaches over the years...that dude is one of a kind! :D

So 2.4mil per year for Paris at USC
Clemson pays Brownell about 3mil per year

We need to do anything in our power to get Richey a raise to $600k very soon, he deserves it

We need to give him a bonus for each of the years he has already been here, rather than raising his salary. And a bonus to be paid at the end of next year, based upon the additional year of service and based upon performance and achievement criteria; with part of all that being based upon his still performing all his regular duties as our coach for as long as the team is still in regular season and post-season play next year. Furthermore, we need to optimize (in Furman's favor) the stipulation of his buyout clause to the extent feasible for when he does leave (probably next year).
He deserves the money. However, I very much doubt $600k or any other amount that Furman can pay will be enough to keep him here if and when he wants to leave. The UofSC contract for Paris indicates what CBR will get once he decides to leave. There are 5 other SEC schools with new coaches. I would be surprised if any of the 5 are giving their new coaches much less that what UofSC is giving its new coach. So this illustrates what we are up against.
