Late notice, but we are recording another episode with JD the AD Monday afternoon. Leave questions here.

As long as Furman keeps having Spring Break fall on same weekend as SoCon Basketball Tournament Furman will never have many students attend the tournament, even for a championship game, not that our AD has control over this but does he believe Furman University at least acknowledges and understands that this is a fact?

Adding on to the above - has there been any consideration of turning the weekend into a university sponsored trip (travel / lodging), for the tip "x" number of students in terms of game attendance?

Question 2: The best part of our basketball program is the people. Have we considered something like the Clemson football vlog series (Duke has one for basketball) to highlight our best assets? Pie in the sky would be a #2BidSoCon documentary series that the league gets produced and puts either on YouTube, or some other streaming service.

OK.

For JD: Why was the Football game with NGU scheduled for a Thursday night? Not a complaint, just curious. I'll be there.

1. Why could we not get a D1 home game instead of a game that doesn’t count towards the playoffs. which puts us at a huge disadvantage. Should we expect more non D1 games?

2. Any updates on future FBS games?

3. Any chance FU basketball gets in a high profile preseason/holiday tournament?

4. Thought there was supposed to be an exciting announcement regarding Furman and espn upstate? Hope that relationship continues.

5. Any chance the much talked about Timmons renovations start in the next 3 year?

6. Baseball is sorely missed.
Thanks for doing this Dan and JD.

Basketball - Could we not have an event in Greenville at the Well with Furman, Wofford and two other major schools ( Clemson, South Carolina, etc ) with a format similar to the former North South basketball event in Charlotte in the 1980’s ?

The will never happen. If you were Clemson or South Carolina, would you want to play either of these schools?

How about Davidson or CofC?

Furman & Wofford should call ‘em out … Just publish & promote that Furman is playing Clemson @ 5:30 & Wofford is playing USC @ 8 …or similar/vice versa …. at the Well on some Sat. the Tiggers & Cocks have open at the beginning of the season…with the big caveat as part of that promotion…UNLESS THE KITTY-CATS & CHICKENS ARE TOO SCARED TO SHOW UP! If they don’t show play an exhibition or 2 … alumni games…whatever. JUST CALL ‘EM OUT!!

As the FCS Playoffs, due to circular logic (drives polls, computer ranking, and playoff selections based on PERCEIVED strengths of schedules)…and a few other built-in ‘features’ (“Why those are features; not bugs, sir”) seem to have become more of an MVFC & Big Sky Post-Season Invitational Tournament than a true National Championship, could you ever see the SoCon withdrawing from the ‘triple-stacked deck’ (fake) FCS Playoffs & perhaps forming a Post-Season Alliance with the CAA and/or MEAC and/or SWAC and/or Big South and/or et al for maybe some kind of bowl series…something like 3 games staged in a way and at a time that can attract interest and make them profitable…like the SWAC & Celebration Bowl have done?

Ditto on this question. What advantage do we gain by playing a game on Thursday night? Any progress we may have made in attendance numbers will certainly be lost. If we were playing an FCS team with national implications with major ESPN exposure, it would be understandable; but North Greenville?

I feel like if we win the SoCon tourney this year to go to the NCAA's we just might have a major donor step forward to make full Timmons renovation happen

Interesting that JD felt very confident that both the men’s and women’s teams seasons would not end in Asheville regardless what happens there.
