BOB RICHEY STOP PLAYING SO SMALL, IF WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE SOCON TOURNEY AND NOT CHOKE AGAIN AND AGAIN LIKE WE HAVE WE NEED SOME SIZE, PLAY THE BIGGER KIDS YOU RECRUITED AND GIVE THEM SOME EXPERIENCE, DEVELOP THEM OVER TIME IN GAME ACTION AND WE JUST MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE COME MARCH :!:

Who would that be? We only have one. It’s not like we have a bench full of big men. We are a 3 point shooting team. Thats who we are as are most teams we play. Again what “bigs” does he need to play? To tell you the truth I wouldn’t mind starting Repass instead of Foster and/or Garrison but doubt that happens.

I would like to see Repass play more in non-critical situations to develop him. Really really need Lawrence back.

Repass would frustrate you guys on the defensive end right now.

Starting to think Tyrese Hughey could have made a diff if he had not decided to redshirt but having a “Slawson clone” for an extra year might be good down the road.

We have 3 that all need to play more, I don't care if they frustrate us we NEED to develop them, if they don't play they will not get any better, our biggest problem over the years is that we are always so damn small, main reason we have SUCKED so bad at the socon tourney

6'9 Hien
6'10 Repass
6'9 Beeker
(Obviously 6'10 Lawrence once he's back)

All these guys could be playing more, we have got to develop some size as a program otherwise come March every single year we will be freaking toast just like we have been since almost forever now

Hien plays a lot. Repass seems slow afoot. Beeker is a walk on, doubtful he plays a lot. CBR spends a lot of time with the whole team so we have to leave it up to him and trust he knows who needs to play. If we go from playing 8-10 to 12 or 13 it would be a disaster. With what we lose this year there will be plenty of playing time to go around next year. For example players that won’t be here next year played 139 of the 200 minutes tonight. Still hoping Slawson and Bothwell return.

Since we are talking development, this is the first year in awhile that a future dominant scorer hasn't shown himself. We went from Croone to Sibley to Rafferty to Lyons to Bothwell. Although Bothwell hasn't been as strong as the others he looked that part as a soph. If Slawson and Bothwell leave, who will be that guy next year? I was hoping for Pegues but he's fallen out of favor for Anderson, who's not a scorer.

Certainly no one has surfaced to take over next year. Really don’t even see one on the radar, unlike the last few years. Speaking of Slawson and Bothwell, if no grad school, could they slow their progress toward graduation so they could graduate next year instead of this year? They are both in their fourth year(no redshirt) and I believe you have 5 years to graduate under normal circumstances in case you redshirt. With the extra Covid year if they take 5 years to graduate they should be able to play without any grad school being involved. Correct?

As I was saying, developing frontcourt depth has been our biggest weakness over this 7 year stretch of becoming a good program again. Its been the main reason for our failures in March every year and continues to be the missing link to making FU hoops great.

Yep, Bothwell and Slawson can basically do exactly what Alex Hunter is doing playing his 5th year right now, no redshirt and no grad school

Will you please share with us your basketball background. What levels have you coached at, did you play in HS or college? How many FU practices have you watched this year?

Clay Mounce is the only player that I can think of that actually redshirted his freshman season, and still went on to play for 4 years (stayed for a total of 5). Alex Hunter used his covid year to stay, so it's a bit different.

This team will be fine. Competed hard against Louisville even lacking the size. Hien had a fantastic game that night, so we need him to contribute like that more often than not. Not many teams are going to be as long as UNC is. IF we make it to the big dance, no team will want to see Furman on their bracket.

CBR has said time and time again... HE will not sub in players that contribute to losing. If the "bigs" aren't ready, they aren't ready. Foster, Slaw, Hien, and even Alex Williams may need to have m ore desire to rebound the ball, which they've shown before. This team will be fine. Why look towards next season already? The most important game right now is the next one.

No need to get so defensive I am simply pointing out the obvious, funny that you would even question me talking about size at Furman when we got out rebounded last night 44-25.
I am an expert on Furman Basketball.
I have seen our failures in the tourney first hand ever year and know exactly what our problem has been.
I know our major weakness every single year is depth in the frontcourt, you would have to be an absolute idiot to not see and understand that for yourself.

If we are going to ever be an elite mid major then we are going to have to develop some size, I am sure Bob Richey knows this and he needs to just play those boys more and trust the process, the lineups we run out there right now make us one of the smallest teams in the country.

We have been outrebounded in almost every game this year
We are giving up a ton of layups and dunks in the paint
We lost at Belmont on a failure to secure a rebound, was very much similar situation at Winthrop

The writing is on the wall, DEVELOP SOME  SIZE DOWN LOW IN THE PROGRAM TO GET TO NEXT LEVEL

What does your last paragraph mean?
“Develop so size down low in the program to get to next level.”
?
“I am an expert on Furman basketball.”
Will you please share your understanding and your knowledge with persons interested, including me.
I just do not understand that last sentence. Typo?
Sorry, I fail to understand.
