Richmond won by 12 - 76-64. Check some of the stats. Kentucky was 0-10 from three point range. Richmond wasn't much better, 7-25, which is 28%. Kentucky outrebounded the Spiders by 23 but had 11 more turnovers. Kentucky also shot poorly from two point range too. They hit 43%. A lot of Kentucky baskets appear to have been close to the hoop.

Great win for Richmond. We will have to wait and see how good Kentucky is to get a fair gauge. Recently the Wildcats bring in some hot shot freshman and struggle early in the season but improve a lot as the year goes by.

You nailed it. Today it was grownups vs 18 year olds who barely know each other. But Richmond is good mainly at forcing turnovers. If we play as sloppy as we’ve been playing, we’ll have about 50 turnovers. But we won’t.

Richmond is ranked #19 in the AP Top 25 today, makes our game with them even more interesting!

You think these polls may be a little biased. Duke moves up 3 spots by squeaking by Coppin St. 😂😂

AP, To be fair, ANYONE would have moved up in their (Duke's) position. It was not because they beat Coppin State..
it was because Villanova, UVA and Kansas all lost in the first week! It's just slot voting. They lost, respectively, to VTech, San Francisco(!) and Gonzaga.. that last one is certainly understandable (KU vs Gonzaga). But when UVA loses to San Francisco, hey, they gotta drop so everyone slides up.

That said, it's gonna be a weird year I think. Props to the old Wofford coach (Mike Young?) for winning at VTech with TWO Wofford players as starters ! His top scorer vs Villanova was a Wofford player now at VTech - Keve Aluma, who dropped 23 on Villanova.

Also, I think it's going to be a wacky year. Stop.. start.. stop.. miss a player.. there is just no continuity. To the point above about UK, Duke is also playing with 18-year-old boys vs 21 year-old-men. But that is their recruiting choice so that is how it goes and that's what you get. The difference is Duke doesn't seem to drop as many "upsets" as UK early in the year. I do expect them to lose to Michigan State - maybe by a lot.

Anyway, I am pulling for Furman - quite a schedule we have coming.. Richmond, Cincinatti and Bama !! Let's win the SoCon ! Of Course who knows what the tournament will look like this year if there is one... :?

The reason Dook doesn't "drop as many upsets" early in the year is because they never play anyone on the road and very rarely play anyone on a neutral court. Their only true road games are ACC games. They are most overrated team every year. Coppin State...what a joke.

FYI Richmond plays at CofC Wednesday night. Wouldn’t surprise me if they lose. Hope they don’t. Alabama is not looking too good against Stanford on espn2.

Egads; by 23 pts with less than eight to play. I was hoping Alabama (KenPom 46) would make more of a game of it against Stanford (KenPom 34). Gonna be a crazy week.

They play Clempson at home on the Saturday(12th) before they play us on Tuesday(15th). Not liking that scenario.

Could try to get a game with CofC. They have no games scheduled this weekend. It's no Richmond, but it is a solid matchup.
