NIT

I am not smart enough to know what our chances are. I would be thrilled if we got in NIT and got a second chance.

I am not sure if the other two lesser tournaments still exist or if we would be interested in playing in them if they are still around?

Losing our first game certainly doesn't help. We didn't even make the semi's. Depending on who wins the tourney, ETSU and UNCG probably have better odds at this point. Not sure more than one SOCON team will make the NIT.

A win tonight and I think we would get an NIT bid. Very doubtful now. Regardless we would still have a better record than UNCG and beat them recently. Really don’t know who to pull for. I think ideally we would like for UNCG beat ETSU and see if the SoCon could get 2 in. If there are a lot of upsets in one bid leagues then we won’t get in. So far the regular season champ is 0-2 in conference tourneys. Not a good start. Paladin91, 2 SoCon teams made the NIT last year.

Utah State won mountain west so that’s one NIT bid made available. They were on bubble for NCAA and would have been a guarantee for NIT.

Cautiously optimistic about NIT.

I think we have a good shot. And the NIT is such a crap shoot. Wichita and Lipscomb made final four last year as low seeds. It’s possible to make a run. Would obviously have to figure a lot of stuff out first.

Ken Pom down to 80 as we speak. It would be a shame for a 25-7 to quit playing but I don't get a vote obviously.

Lot of young players on this team. Hoping they get a second chance this season. Would be good for them and the program.

I doubt they would take a CBI or CIT bid, right? Although if Lyons wants to play more ball, they should find a way to make it happen. We owe him that much.

Does it help our case that UNCG just lost? I would think we would get NIT bid over them.

Yes but at the same time it hurts our ranking. 2 edge sword.

Of course it was Chatt that beat them and we beat Chatt twice...…. the whole thing is just too damn complicated

Maybe at UofSC
Either of those would be great for Furman, even though I would expect Furman to lose.
Beating either one would be a major upset.
But at least we would get some publicity within the state of SC.
