Only 8 regular season games left, they are all important now!
If Mercer defeats Citadel at home on Saturday they will come in as one of the hottest teams in the SoCon on a 6 game win streak.

Which doesn’t mean a whole lot. How many times in a row had we beaten VMI? Odds are with Mercer. Just sayin’

I must have been dreaming at the end of the game on Wednesday night. I could have sworn that we beat VMI, again.

The odds are not with Mercer. That's not how it works. If you flip a coin and it lands on heads nine consecutive times it doesn't mean the odds are increased that the 10th flip will be tails; it's still 50/50. We're a 90% predictor to win this game independent of past results.

Furman is at home...period...Doesn't mean Mercer can't win, but to say the odds are with Mercer with as talented a team as Furman has and the fact they are 60-11 at home since the start of the 2015-16 season would seem to imply the odds are more than slightly with Furman.

Now Furman can't shoot 3-of-25 from three again and win...Odds are extremely in favor of that not happening!

Indeed
Lyons will get at least 3 on his own, the record will be set next Wednesday bank on it!

THIS.

THERE. IS. NO. “ DUE.” THEORY

You wanna fly the airline that crashes every time because they are supposedly due for one safe landing? Or do you wanna fly the airline that has never crashed Bc they are “due” for a crash? I’ll fly the airline that never has had a crash

We need to make 10-12 of them to win, I think. So, if we have another 12% shooting night, we need to shoot more of them in order to get to that point total. So, we would need to launch about a 100 of them. Of course that would necessitate expanding the 7 man rotation somewhat in order to prevent the shooting arms of some of the starters from falling off. It's doable though if we eliminate all that boring passing, dribbling, screening, etc.

Off topic but interesting bit from the Mountain West, Niko appears to have things headed in the right direction at Colorado St, they are now 16-8 which is a big improvement from last season

With that win Mercer climbs into a tie for 5th place with WCU at 6-4.
