22 points on 7-9 field goals, 5-6 on 3 pointers, 3-5 FT. 38 minutes.

4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a blocked shot.

And oh, covered their big guy like a blanket in 2nd half.

Clay is a top-notch dude on the court and off. Super-impressive.

Might have been his best overall game as a Paladin.

Last time I remember a Paladin sniffing the NBA (aside from Jordan Lloyd) was Amu Saaka showing up on some scouting reports when he graduated. I'm curious if Clay will get some scout looks. The dude is long, athletic, strong, and an excellent defender and shooter. Not many kids like him in the country.

I was just looking at his shooting stats in the Loyola box score. Mounce was 7/9 including 5/6 from beyond the arc. When he puts it up, it's money!

I would really like to speak my mind publicly but these are just college kids, so better to let them have their shine......BUT... Who determines Socon player of the week honors? Greensboro’s Kaleb Hunter won the award. I will let you guess which player he is versus another guy.

Thru two games:

Player A: 34 points/19 rebounds/1 assist/2 steals/0 blocks

Player B: 33 points/13 rebounds/4 assists/4 steals/3 blocks

In this week's "The Other Top 25" Mid Major Madness holds the Paladins at #11, adding this note: "Clay Mounce: Buy stock now."

I appreciate his effort on the boards #1.

# 2 he does not make many stupid mistakes. Seems to be a smart player and a team player.

Hopefully his maturity and leadership will rub off on some of our younger players.
