Bottom line, after tonight we are ourselves a mediocre team, hard to say where we go from here, I hope we improve, but have a long long way to go to be able to consistently win big games

We have the same problem we always have had over the years: INCONSISTENCY. A starter from say a UNC or Duke will score 25 every night. The Furman player will score 25 points one night and zero the next. I think CBR is a great coach but I just don't think we have the players to get the job done. Alabama and South Florida are so average. Hope in future we will get a great pure shooter. We also need an enforcer inside. A shame Jalen Williams left as I think his bulk would have helped us. I miss the consistency of Rafferty. At this point we do not have a go-to guy.

Can we beat any team in the conference on a given night when the 3's are falling? Sure. But my prediction is 4th in the conference because of our inconsistency. Tonight we just did not execute.

They beat a 6-1 Tulsa team and lost by 6 to Gonzaga...again lets see where these teams end up.

It’s silly to extrapolate from one game but I am concerned. We seem to have regressed after a solid start to the year.

The D is still there but the O is stagnating and making too many silly errors like missed dunks, unforced turnovers and sloppy play. Yes Jalen Slawson, I’m talking to you. Get your head in the game.

On the O side, the last 2 games we are 40-107 (37%) from the field, partly because we are 16-56 (28%) from 3. Yes, 53% of our shots last 2 games have been 3s. That’s way too many, especially when you’re not hitting them.

It’s not an effort thing. Without our D we lose to UTA by 10 and tonite we lose by 20. It’s offensive flow. And Jalen Williams wouldn’t have helped that.

It is very hard being a Furman sports fan at times with regards to the big two-football and basketball. But Furman will always be my team. Hopefully there will be some good times in the future. I personally am less interested in most of the other 18 sports or so.
