Amazing to me that you could have UNCG (22-3) vs. FU (20-5) and not have a better crowd. That was disappointing.

FU students who were there were great.

Gurley hit a huge 3 down the stretch.

Hunter who absolutely needs to drive to the hole at times finally hit a big layup down the stretch.

Nice game by Lyons driving and with 3’s.

Mounce contributed.

Rafferty-Oh my goodness. We are down 6 late and he scores 7 in a row. Under the basket he is an artist producing masterpiece after masterpiece-and he makes it look so easy! Way to go Matt.

The Wofford game is going to be amazing!

An awesome win! Took a friend of mine to his first FU game this year and he had a great time. He went to the ticket office at halftime to see if he could just one ticket for the WC game, None to be had so if anyone has an extra lmk. Back to the game it was a great team win as everyone stepped up in the end. Lyons and Rafferty were great the whole game. Crowd was a little disappointong but loud and proud, This was a big win towards any post season possibilities.

The fact that we were beating Wofford by 1 with less than a minute left, and split blowout wins with ETSU ( lost by 23 on road and won by 30 at home), and split 10 point games with UNCG, points out that we can play with the “big 3” on a given night. And we are getting better! A Wofford win at home would be huge-a confidence builder heading into the postseason, good for our record and postseason opportunities, and beating Wofford for the sake of beating them.

Next up: beat VMI.

That was fun! Lyons hit some key shots, again, at just the right time. Wow. Hunter’s drive to basket for his first two points was big.

When we play defense like that, we are tough tough tough to beat. And when the shots start falling? Watch out!

VMI puts up 84 against Wofford in a 95-84 loss. Nothing can be taken for granted. It's going to take our "A" game and an "A" crowd. MaGee hits 8 3-pointers.

Tough-minded win tonight. Great response to UNCG's min-run early in the second half after we overcame their early first half lead. Excellent defense. Only Dickey had a efficient game with 5 of 6 shots but he rarely got the ball in the danger zone. Galloway, who had 32 against LSU, was a non-factor. He only hit 1-11 shots. Alonzo, Miller, and Troy only combined for 39 points. They won't win many games with that kind of output from their top 3 scorers.

UNCG wins with defense but tonight our defense was the best.

Some people think a Wofford player should win the SoCon POY, but Rafferty is the best player in the league.

Rafferty is no doubt the best player in the SoCon
One guy jacks up a lot of shots and flops, the other guy stuffs the stat sheet on virtually every stat they have given a name :D

Magee isn't the best player on his own team (that clearly being Cameron Jackson). Jackson is the only player in the conference that even has an argument against Rafferty as POY . . .

Great win by the Paladins. Too bad that the VMI game wasn't scheduled for Valentine's Evening and this game for Saturday; this one deserved a packed house.

The only thing working against Matt Rafferty getting POY might that an FU player has received the award several times in the last handful of years. Matt does it all for this team and does it at a high level. Another MR ain't walking through that door again any time soon.
