3-0 start to the weekend for FU athletics! Volleyball won its fourth straight game and is hottest team in the league as the season winds down. Mens soccer beat Mercer to advance in SoCon tourney, and BB Dins get a great road win and showed a lot of fight (we don’t win this game last year).

OK football… its your turn to keep it going tomorrow!

Belmont out shot the Paladins 54% to 47% but Paladins outscored Belmont 48-15 from 3. This is the CBR way. We must shoot the 3.

Very dangerous play at the end reaching in for the ball, could just see a foul being called like 3 years ago, thankfully it wasn’t.

Wow what a win! This is the first in person game that I have been able to attend since the NCAA Tourney win vs Virginia in Orlando and it was well worth it. Here's a few observations:

*This year's team plays well together and everybody seems to know their role.
*With the exception of 4-6 minutes in the second half they seemed to know exactly what they wanted to do on offense.
*The D was better in the first half than the second but IMHO is going to be better than LY.
*Belmont was really clogging up the lane which made it tough for our bigs to have any space to operate but that enabled a lot of 3 pt. shots.
*We turned the ball over too much, usually in the paint, getting it knocked away. There were a few muggings by Belmont that were not called.
*Bowser did not score a point but he was a factor on D and had 10 rebounds and 2 steals.
*Our depth is going to win a lot of games for us.
*We've got 4 bigs that can play and 5-6 guys that can shoot the ball.

I really liked what I saw tonight and I'm optimistic that this can be a very good team.

PS Carter Whitt played very well tonight for Belmont

I feel like that was our biggest win since UVA.

Still a lot to work on. Our inside game (offensive and defensive) needs work. And too many turnovers. Need to find someone that can get to the rim like Bothwell Sibley Croone Fowler.

But damn that felt good.
