6-9/250 PF Eric Hamilton is leaving UNCG for Pitt.

He transferred to UNCG after 2 years at Wichita St and avg 16min 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last year.

Per KenPom he had the highest offensive rating (120.4) on the entire UNCG team last year.

So Wofford, ETSU, UNCG all took some front court hits heading into next season

If Gurley, Mounce, Slawson and Lawrence can hold things down FU just might be alright upfront after all!

Yes, but. . .Wofford signed a 7'1" JUCO, ETSU gets back Rodriguez, and UNCG has former DPOY James Dickey.
Still better that Aluma, Armus and Hamilton all transferred out however

All need to put on significant pounds/muscle.

I remember when people around the SoCon thought The Citadel's seven-footer from Russia--Kiril Misuychenko-- was a big deal...He did block a lot of shots, however, he had no offensive game and also got dunked on by Furman's own Andre Kerr off a rebound slam in a game back during the 1995-96 season...The dunk ended up helping the Paladins win a close one at the Brown Box.

Trey Doomes will transfer to Chattanooga from West Virginia. He was one of the first players we offered for this year's freshman class. That was back in 2016. He ended up with over 20 offers, which included 5 reported offers from P5 conference teams.

WVU coach BobHuggins said that Doomes was "by far the best athlete on the team.". He didn't mention that he might have been the worst three point shooter. Doomes has not hit above the 20 something percent range in high school, AAU, or college.

I don't know if that was the reason for the transfer. There was some kind of funny business going on. There were several player suspensions this season at WVU. Doomes wasn't one of them, but it appeared he was being punished,or given a hint. They were originally planning to redshirt Doomes, but lifted the redshirt in January and then only played him about 4 minutes a game. Odd thing to do.

There is some doubt about when he will be eligible. Some say he sits a full year, others think he will play this coming year.

Could be a big addition for UTC.

He will have to sit a year. People saying he will be eligible immediately roll think UTC is 1-AA in basketball, LOL. Only way he could play immediately is if he has graduated.

The last year or two the NCAA has become more lenient about granting waivers to allow immediate eligibility to transfers for various "hardships" that weren't given previously.

He has officially applied for the waiver. Because of the more lenient stance from the NCAA, odds are he will not have to sit out a year.

What is his "hardship"?
His hardship was getting screwed at WVU. Even the WVU fans are saying that. Huggins lifted his redshirt year for just a few minutes of play. The NCAA will sympathize with him and approve a waiver. He is a good young man. I hope he gets the waiver.
