Huge! Wonder when the last time that happened was?

My best recollection is NEVER.

None of the Selvy teams got votes to my knowledge. The Joe Williams team of 71 -72 were ranked 20 in pre season by Sporting News, but did not get a vote all year, or at any other time during Joe's tenure. The polls wereTop 20 during most of that time until, I believe, the 80s.

Hard to believe, but you could look it up.
During the 70s we received votes many times. In fact, we were ranked in the top 20 at least one week in one of the two main polls - AP and UPI at that time. I think it was the 1972-73 season. We opened the season with four wins (including an 83-69 win over Clemson) and were ranked - #17? - but lost at Illinois and Jacksonville and dropped out.

Furman would get votes in the 70's and maybe early 80's (i.e., Honorable Mention). If I remember correctly, we were on the cusp of getting into the top 20 (it used to only be 20, not 25) after purple lighting struck twice in Charlotte, but we came home and pooped the bed against Bobby Cremins and App, and that was the end of that.

Well then, clearly Loyola is still a great team with two starters back and Furman had an epic win. I must have been watching a different game.
Glad you finally came around!
I just took a sip of the Cool Aid and it all turned rosy. On to the Final Four. :D WE ARE NUMBER ONE - WE ARE NUMBER ONE (Gardner Webb is number 2)
