I think this is a great idea. Hopefully SoCon is planing to participate if invited to. I guess we could have just the top 2-3 teams play these OOC games and the rest of the lower-ranked SoCon would continue as normal with conference play? Seems like it would cause those teams to have less conference wins potentially as well- Not sure how the logistics work. Only downside as a fan would be not being able to plan much in advance if you wanted to go to the "away" game we're selected for.

Teams would still play a full conference schedule

Doubt this idea is worth the trouble, the best mid-majors would just cannibalize each other for no reason, the P6 leagues will not participate in this so what's the point?

There are several valid points in the article itself. A big area of concern about moving the conference regular season up to December is, how could that affect potential money games against the bigger teams?

Indeed, if it cost us good OOC games in December that would be counterproductive

I believe this. I responded to the tweet, adding @ClemsonMBB in my tweet. They need to be called out for refusing to play us.

CU can lose alot by playing Dins...

1. They could lose
2. If they lose, they would never hear the end of it and might lose some Gville market
3. Brownell is on hot seat and CBR would be a very attractive replacement

Only one thing keeping CU from playing FU. Brownell, he absolutely is not going to play FU.

Maybe there is another thing.
Furman has a great program, but in terms of championships and national rankings and NCAA tournaments, Furman has done very little.
A lot of people, unfortunately, do not know how good Furman basketball is.
Clemson losing to Furman would harm Clemson's reputation with the masses.
If we would get a lot better than we have been, in terms of championships and national rankings and NCAA tournaments, Clemson would probably play us, because then a loss to Furman would not appear, in the eyes of the unknowing local masses, to be such an embarrassment.
If were would get a lot worse (heaven forbid), Clemson might play us because then they might think we would not beat them. (On the other hand, maybe they have long memories of the times we have beaten them in the past in basketball.)

It said a top 100 NET team which Furman is. They didn’t say they were looking for a championship team, top 25, or NCAA tournament team. If Furman got to that point do you really think they would play Furman then?

Hopefully things are going well on the scheduling front
Unfortunately not too good according to CBR. Reading between the lines from what coach said it looks like we don’t have any high major games so far as “we have 3 maybe 4 spots to fill”. We know the other games and there is a possibility to play one in the Charlston Classic but no guarantee.
