Admittedly I don't know my conferences. I just went by the CIU release, where they appear to tout their "NCCAA Div 1" efforts more than their NAIA affiliation: https://www.ciurams.com/news/2019/9/7/m ... edule.aspx

The CIU fact-sheet cites both affiliations: https://www.ciurams.com/sports/2017/3/2 ... facts.aspx

As far as the FU non-conference schedule is concerned, is there any preferred pecking order below D1? D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA? Or is that like we used to say in the Army "arguing rank between 1st & 2nd lieutenants is like arguing virtue among whores."

Schedule to be released on Thursday. https://furmanpaladins.com/news/2019/9/ ... icago.aspx
Then we in the UFFP had better get to it if we're to beat 'em to the punch.

This just in:
Mon 12/2 @ Univ. South Florida (American): https://gousfbulls.com/news/2019/9/10/m ... edule.aspx

The 12/2 game @ South Florida promises to be a barn-burner. Last year they finished 24-14, #99 KenPom, and won the CBI.

Here's the write-up on them from College Sports Madness, which projects them at #72 (remember they have FU at #91); my emphasis added:
In their second season under Brian Gregory, South Florida won 24 games, their most in a single season since 2011-12. That 2012 season was also the last time the Bulls made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulls weren’t an NCAA Tournament team last year, but they did go on to win the CBI Tournament. This year, South Florida returns all but one rotation player from last season including all five starters. The arrow is pointing up for the Bulls and the next step is an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Cool, that's a good game for us playing an American team (Same league as Wichita St)
Citadel actually beat them last season

Looking at the "almost complete" schedule there are still a few holes where we could get a nice surprise tomorrow:
- the open week between the 11/12 at Chas. Southern and 11/19 at Alabama games;
- the 27 days between the 12/5 game at Auburn and the 1/1 game at VMI, during which we only have two games scheduled, both at home: the 12/11 game against N. Greenville and the 12/20 conference opener against Mercer.

I'd expect the TBD SC Upstate match to get inked somewhere in there. Will there be another/others?

FY I that 12/20 game is not a home game, it is at Mercer.

Students start coming back on Saturday, Jan. 11. Hopefully we will at least have the cheerleaders and a few students. If we are playing well, they will show up.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
