not our best game missing so many threes but nice to see House and Bronson play well...with a good recruiting class coming in future looks good

Yeah. A team that prides themselves on playing aggressive D only gets called for 7 fouls the entire game? Is “over the back” not a foul anymore?
Anyway the better team won. Whoever said they were just a little quicker than we were nailed it. The loose balls were frustrating and some sloppy turnovers as well.
That little run they had at the beginning of 2H really was the difference.

That was a heck of an effort but the shots just didn't fall in the second half. What's great about the NCAA Tournament is you play on a neutral court without homer Refs. It might have been a different story had that game not been at their place. And damn sure different had it been in Timmons Arena.
I don't want to disparage North Texas. They gave a superb effort too and they play great defense and good old school offense. But had that not been a home game they might not have gotten away with some of the bumping and holding.
The announcers said Furman only shot 4 free throws the whole game and that says it all right there.

With so much talent on the roster coming back, with the highly touted incoming recruiting class and the new arena to open the future looks bright!!

They were quicker and more athletic. Good team. I saw them play in AAC tournament. Put a hurting’ on PJ cutting off the head of our snake as it were. Glad we made the NIT. Despite PaulC getting all mad over one game and blocking people : He said (paraphrasing) we deserve NIT !!! why say that? As if it was a given we wouldn’t make NIT ?? We had a shot at it and got it ! Which is very possible these days - easier to make NIT. P6 schools (Wake Forest etc) are turning it into- NIT - down more and more as they prefer to hit NIL and transfer portal as soon as possible. First contact with transfer portal guys matters. So more NIT Slots are opening up for mid major schools
Superb year overall. Better to go to NIT & lose than not go. We just did not have it in the second half.
