anyway, for those that think I am negative or (REALISTIC) - there are several of us who are spreading the Furman love on bigger boards. I have several people who I told on the Duke board that we really do go by "FU All the time" and they now use it as their favorite phrase and tag line... They were also loving when I told them of our Bourbon. Probably 15 posts about those and hundreds upon hundreds who have seen it now.

So they tuned in to our game. Called the Wofford guy "Lump Lump" LOL - right from the ACC boards - "
Enjoyed the underhand FTs by Lump Lump of Wofford.
In honor of Gene Hackman's recent passing, that guy looks like he should be in Hoosiers.

"
FU all the time ... except for the last minute-thirty of the game, unfortunately for them. But a heck of a game."

Yeah, tough loss but at least ya'll got to see some great SoCon basketball and some marketing is going to rebuild Asheville - a great cause. And more important

Yahoo! Thanks for the shout out.

Oh it is. Especially when I was there. Our Baptist president would chant “FU 1 time! FU 2 times ! FU 3 times ! FU ALL THE TIME!!! “ At football games.
Awesome. Still sell hats that just say … “ F U “. Lol
Go Furman

Congrats on the win and making it to the SoCon final tomorrow! "

Several of us getting the Furman love out there on the bigger boards where a thousand see it - me, GoDins, Dr. Maturin etc

Done with you
Check the PM. I expect more from you. I bet. I won. I PAID in hopes of Furman winning. Did you? If not, your not the fan I am

Congrats on winning the bet. So now donate it to the FU Athletics department or Karma will prevail.
Choir Boy, hope you are doing well. I need to do that. I have proposed that myself more than once. IE, MY WAY COULD PROFIT FURMAN .. just standing there and going "yay, yay" doesn't do a lot. Though we do need more fans and crowd atmosphere - esp at the Football games.

FUBeAR got it into his head from somewhere … coulda been a dream or a hallucination, though not likely…

That the NCAA Tourney Unit is divided into 11 equal shares and the tourney participating Team gets a double-share (2/11ths) of that year’s Unit.

If true…Guess, if the SoCon ever rec’d multiple bids, the divisor for that year’s Units would be the number of SoCon Teams + the number of Teams participating , and each participating Team would still get a double share of that year’s payout.

No idea of the source of this “double-shot” scheme that FUBeAR’s brain thinks it was told…so don’t ask. And if incorrect, no worries … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Saint Francis (PA) just won the NEC and it is a smaller school than Wofford.
Affirm believes that further investigation would show that saint Francis (PA) is actually larger than Wofford, especially when their graduate students are included in the count.
Affirm does not want to investigate further.
Affirm is sure Spartanburg is bigger than Loretto, Pa.

Hoopla, I agree about the REFS' role in the last 1:40 of the game.
The REFS for the entire game let Wofford bang and push into the Paladin defender game as a whole (inside). These weren't called either way. Then, under 2 minutes, Wofford's guards drove to the basket. Our defenders, as they should, bodied up on the Wofford player. They called a foul on Furman every single time. At least two of those times, the Wofford player moved into a standing still Furman player and still got the call (Johnston's foul really stood out as a huh).

On our end, as we drove to the basketball, Wofford was just a physical, IMO more so using a lot of hands on any Furman player slashing to the basket - no calls.

I have a theory - I was coached that the physical team gets the calls late. Furman doesn't bang into the defender like Wofford does - they were rewarded for this in the closing minutes. Furman slashed more to the basket when Wofford late was given the benefit of the no-call unless it was blatantly obvious.

The last thing I will say about the no calls: Ben took a wicked shot (no call), and Furman's trainer had to repeatedly work on Ben's nose during the timeouts to stop the bleeding. Wofford's goon also took a shot at PJ's head late as PJ was trying to break to get outside to catch a pass - the refs were blind to it.
Agree 100%. I thought I was looking at it with purple glasses until I read your post. The no-call that pissed me off the worst was when PJ drove to the basket near the end of the game. Especially since when Woffy did that they would call a foul every time we breathed on them.

The physicality of the play in the championship games makes me appreciate PJ's courage. PJ is a stout but small guard. I'd have to check, but based on what I saw on the court, PJ was the smallest player on the court. During the entire season, this never stopped PJ from driving the paint and going up against the biggest guys for the other team.

As fans, we don't appreciate what we see on the court from a player like PJ, willing to sacrifice his body to score. Sitting in section 128, I had a clear sight line to those last-minute drives of PJ. Shameful that PJ didn't get the calls that the REFS gave Wofford at the other end of the court.

The Furman vs. Wofford SoCon Championship game attendance this year of 6,400 has been one of the largest crowds of any Mid-Major tournament this season, was even larger than the Gonzaga vs. St. Mary's WCC title game by a couple hundred......

Wow. And in the shadow of neighboring Clemson’s winningest regular season ever.

Now Cooper Flagg is gone. CU is very good but they are even harder to beat with the perrenial horseshoe up their butt.
Clemson has already proven they can beat Duke with Flagg playing.
Yep played by far his worst game of the year, i.e: horseshoe up their butt. With that said CU is very good.
