Jon Rothstein, who writes for CBS Sports on college basketball, says that Furman will replace Penn in the field of the Myrtle Beach Invitational this season.

Other teams are Dayton, Nebraska, Pitt, Missouri, Utah State, Loyola-Chicago, and Charlotte. Solid field, but a tournament we could win.

Let me get this straight. We're going to shut down outdoor stadiums for the rest of 2020, but open up basketball arenas in November?

This is a great opportunity for the Paladins. The field has a number of quality opponents from a variety of conferences. Plus, it can provide a bit more national exposure as well as local exposure in the South Carolina North Carolina recruiting area. Additionally, Myrtle Beach is very accessible to our fans. (Hopefully, the virus might be contained by then). This tournament adds to the schedule desires of many fans! Go Paladins!

Don’t worry basketball will be cancelled too. The new protocol is an infectious disease free world in order to have normal activity. No flu, no colds, no hepatitis, no mono, no stds etc. Everyone has to be “safe” so we all can live in depression.

With the Pac12 and Big10 shutdown until at least January there are a lot of openings now.

apaladin, I am so hopeful basketball won't be shut down...Let's think positive here.
thats all we can do soconjohn. with no football we surely will need it by November. I saw the other day that the NCAA will decide in mid-September(2 months in advance) if the season can start on time. No control over football but can dictate basketball?

College Football is the canary in the coal mine for College Basketball. If what remains of CF is shut down, there can be no hope for a normal BB season.
