One of FUBeAR's favorite Defensive Paladins http://www.furmanpaladins.com/sports/m- ... l?view=bio is now the Defensive Coordinator at Georgia Tech. Proud of this young man!

Good for him.

I'm partial, but I believe the period Thacker played for the Paladins was among the best teams in program history. I'd be interested to do a dive into the coaching tree just off that brief era in Furman football history. Just off the top of my head:

Andrew Thacker, DC Georgia Tech
Josh Stepp, TE Georgia State (graduated from Newberry)
Justin Stepp, WR Arkansas
Maurice Duncan, DBs North Greenville
Brian Bratton, WR/STC Furman
Carter Barfield, RB Mercer
Partick Covington, OL Coastal
Ingle Martin, HC CPA (Nashville)
Adam Mims, WR Tenn Tech

Can also include guys off the Furman coaching staff at that time, including:
Clay Hendrix, HC Furman
Bobby Lamb, HC Mercer
Drew Cronic, HC Lenior Rhyne
Jeff Farrington, HC NGU

Add
Des Kitchings, NC State
Don't know if he fits into that time frame, but he certainly belongs in a Paladin coaching tree.

I was just sticking to the folks that played or coached during from that four year period 2004-2007.

If you go beyond that, the coaching tree gets pretty big.

You can add Hindley Brigham who is the running back coach at UAB!
