Thanks! Straight from Wolfpacker. Copied. Added possible two? Wanted my list of injuris not buried in a thread. Easy to find here

WR Josh Harris (starter) - out for year with "stuff" it sounds like. Off roster?
TE Josh Burrell (starter)
DB AK Burrell (starter)
WR Santino Varvel
DB Jalen Tate (2 deep)
Spur Justin Hartwell (starter)
Ban Alex Maier (2 deep - would play a lot)
RB Jayquan Smith (2 deep - still out from last year)
LB Raleigh Herbert (2 deep - missed a couple of games). BACK 100% now ?..
DE David Alabi (contributor)
DT Bryce Stanfield (starter)

We were down at least 3 starters before the season even started (Stanfield, Hartwell, Burrell), and since then we have lost at least 2 more for multiple games (Burrell and Harris). Add to that 3 guys from the two deep (Maier, Smith, Tate) and that's a lot of guys we were counting on playing a lot of snaps who aren't going to play a ton or at all for us this year. Not to mention we have a true freshman QB starting now as well. This team was already going to be young, but it's even younger than we all expected.

Someone else mentioned it earlier this week I think, but this team has already faced it's fair share of adversity and is having to grow up on the job very quickly.

———-

8 - Moson at DB ? Citadel game gimpy shoulder ..out for year
40 - this is key to me. Xavier is a HUGE part of our DL. HUGE - sounds like out for year

Clark, Maier, and Chiedo are all out right now at Bandit... Anyone know the status of Luke Clark? will he return this year?

.
This is insane -bold and underline are guys I am not sure about and will be looking for.

updated with Harris.. Moson ... and Xavier Stephens ALL out for year - what is particularly painful is Moson and Stephens went down on the last few plays where Citadel had the ball

I really feel for Xavier as he is a Senior and this was game 5... He probably can't play again next year. Is that right? Or am I missing something there...

Not sure he would have come back again anyway but if in game 3 or 4 it was an option I think?

CCH said JJ was ok and could have went back in but no point to it when getting blown out.

Great to hear. He’s a very good one. And we are SO THIN AT DL now

One thing I presented that a buddy hadn’t considered - people say when a guy goes down that it helps for the next year. That is only SOMETIMES true. If you have a clear sophomore starter backed up by a freshman … that sophomore who is out for this season now will most likely be the starter again next year and he lost the practice and games. He will usually still be the starter next year and now is far less experienced. It’s different if a Senior gets hurt - which I HATE as it can be the end of a career    …. But the youngster behind the Senior is going to start next year so yes, in this case, he gets more reps to be make us better next year.

There are still some missing from this list. They said during the game yesterday there have been 13 surgeries this year for Furman. Is that accurate? Something worth looking into more if true

FUEveryday,
Right. I heard that too. Seemed incorrect to me with my injuris fetish - but I heard it repeated a few times.

Can anyone confirm.? That seemed off but they repeated it a few times as if it was a fact

If we have had THIRTEEN SURGERIES this is even more than horrible. Never want a kid to have a surgery.

Harris = “stuff”.. he got arrested for being a freaking Peeping Tom, for crissakes. Why sugarcoat it? The rest of the SoCon is laughing their asses off about this!

I would imagine Dan knows better than most. If that’s what he said then it’s probably true.

The only other one I noticed was Jordan Miller looked like he had surgery at some point. Did they say 13 season ending surgeries or just 13 surgeries? Maybe a few of them have been knee scopes or something like that where we might not be able to tell from the stands. Either way, it’s a lot. We certainly have had more than our fair share of injuries this year. Would be nice to go a week without losing a player for the rest of the year.

One. I was just being nice. Whether he deserves it or not.

Two. The peeping Tom law can mean different things. At least from what I read

Hope he learns.

FUWolfpacker. Good question. They said thirteen surgeries. I never heard “season ending”
As a qualifier. That’s a good point. Still 13 surgeries is horrible on a 60 scholarship team.

Sadly the bold is where I’ve gotten to also. Can we go a freakin week without a bad injury. Forget my fandom. Just for the kids health !!!

Hendrix jokingly said no surgeries were scheduled this week, so...little victories. Said there were bumps and bruises of course, but hopefully that means that none of the guys are out for any extended period of time.

Couple of guys we haven't seen in a bit, Bailor Hughes and Dylan Chiedo. Hughes hasn't played since Stetson and Chiedo hasn't played since W&M. Haven't heard anything specifically about them (might have missed it), but maybe they've had some injury issues as well.

Was trying to figure out the 13 surgeries comment. This is what I have to this point. To be fair I'm not sure about all of these, but I'm taking a guess based on what I've seen and what we've heard.

TE Josh Burrell
DB AK Burrell
WR Santino Varvel
Spur Justin Hartwell
Ban Alex Maier
RB Jayquan Smith (last year)
DE David Alabi
OL Tex Elliot (feels like maybe there was mention of something with him in the spring/summer)
NG Xavier Stephens (guess)
CB Jaylen Moson (guess)
CB Jordan Miller (leg was heavily wrapped and he was sitting on a scooter against UTC)

That's 11 and I think all but maybe 1 were season enders.

I think them reporting what Clay Hendrix told them would be confirmation enough.

Chideo appeared to be in a black "not playing" jersey on Saturday.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
