Scheduling fall break during a home game is awful. CCH said he was not happy about it. It starts and ends with ED.

It can definitely END with ED. Or so I have heard. … cough cough.
I do agree and wish we would do an away game for fall break. Glad CCH said something about this. I know when I was in school I wouldn’t have missed going home for fall break … though I was the rare devotee who would come back for a Thanksgiving playoff game - otherwise I had to drive to pick up a radio station ! No interwebs then !

UTC can cause ED. I got a painful UTC one time, from a toilet seat I imagine. The ED happened later, in 1987 when we lost 14-16 to UTC at home and I drank half a bottle of whiskey.

Don’t blame Jim Beam. It was her fault.

Is it the fault of Elizabeth Davis and the administration or the one that schedules the games? Seriously folks, your criticism is ridiculous. The school has to set its schedule before the football schedule is set. It is not the fault of the administration that the SoCon schedules a a home game for Furman when the students are away on fall break.
As for Hendrix being verbally upset about this, show me the quote.

FUBeAR believes the State of SC and the Federal Gov’t of the US should not set their Holiday Calendars before Furman’s Football Schedule is set.
What happened to government of the people, for the people, and by the people?
Paul Revere guaranteed us we would have our students at Furman Football games!

I woke up this morning thankful I had power. Some in Gville, still without. I have no internet, but life goes on. Some people in NC have NOTHING!!! How many peeps come to the game Saturday not on my radar.

This is a ridiculous and insane thread.
THE STUDENTS OBVIOUSLY DON’T CARE about Furman Football. At least the ones who choose to not hang around and attend the game don’t care.
To what extent do Furman students attend Furman Football games anyway, and if they do attend, what does it matter to the game?
Of course, this assumes that the players on the team are not demanding to be allowed to leave on fall break.

I’m not a fan of this thread either. I’ve not seen evidence of it and just because CCH says he wishes Fall Break wasn’t on a home game doesn’t indicate the admins dislike of football.
Move on. Chatt is next up!

May surprise some, but the academic calendar does not revolve around the football team.

Watched it. Being disappointed is okay. He never pointed fingers or blamed at anyone. The SoCon schedule was set by the SoCon, not the administration. This thread was started by someone that hates our administration. I have convinced he is really a Woofy supporter. No real Furman fan can be that negative about the school and its athletics programs.

I don't know. I recall seeing SC and Clemson have Home Games over Fall Break. Texas A&M just hosted Mizzou over Fall Break. Lot of teams play over Thanksgiving Break.
Everyone tries to avoid it I think but conference scheduling is not fully in your control and sometimes it happens.

He didn’t say he wishes….. he said “I am really disappointed we scheduled it(fall break) on a home football weekend” big difference than wishing. Why do they continue to schedule spring break the weekend of the SoCon basketball tourney?
