Note: If Furman receives one of the eight seeds, Furman's first playoff game would be a home game on Saturday, Dec. 2nd.

Now that Astro has taken care of my calendar through the end of the year, I will pass this on to the wife and make sure she doesn't make conflicting plans for us!

The National FCS Media is almost batting a thousand with their created narrative that WILL influence the decisions of the Playoff Selection Committee. Herder's has just a slight variation from the prevalent theme.

The narrative is such that, barring upsets by 4-5's Portland State, Weber State, Eastern Washington, or 3-6 Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, and Idaho are LOCKED IN as the 2, 3, and 4 Seed, and will not travel until the Semifinal or the Championship Game (for the #2 Seed).

Chattanooga was trying to sell The Big Lie last week that they were somehow tied with Furman in the SoCon standings, but this really is much bigger.

This is THE BIG STEAL. The National FCS Media, as a content creation bloc, is attempting to steal the Top 2 Seed that Furman will have earned and rightly deserves if we defeat VMI and Wofford.

As the Chair of the Committee is Montana's AD, FUBeAR has little doubt they are going to be successful unless the Committee Members can somehow be shamed into NOT STEALING this Top 2 Seed from Furman. Public awareness is probably the only way to do this...although FUBeAR is out there on the InterWebs feeling a lot like this guy....

If Montana beats Montana State, the Bobcats will have lost to 3 top 10 teams and 2 top 5 teams.

If you've had two shots to beat top 5 teams and lost, there's objective evidence you aren't one of the top 4 teams in the country.

Or...you could say...Montana State has lost, very competitively (by 4, by 3, and by X), to the Top 3 Teams in FCS, thus they must be #4.

FUBeAR wouldn't say that, but THEY will.

Sam Herder is so off base. He has 3 SoCon teams in different brackets. That has never happened and never will. IF FU gets the first round bye you can bet they will play the winner of a game involving another SoCon team.

I mean, it's possible.

It's very possible the committee would send a SoCon team to Furman. They also have previously not done that (like last year, Furman didn't go to Birmingham in round two, but instead San Antonio)

Do I count 8 teams from the SE (throwing Delaware in there) in the first round? I think that’s more than normal so it’s not as likely the SoCon teams matchup in round 2. Boy they love to send Elon to Paladin Stadium don’t they?

Kent & Sussex Counties are much more SE than North. New Castle County is South, South Philly. UD is in Newark (pronounced New Ark) in New Castle County, but it’s almost South enough in that County to almost qualify as being SE.

FUBeAR Jr. & Little Miss FUBeAR were born in Newark. FUBeAR considers them as SE people, unless he’s mad at them. Then, they are DAMN YANKEES!

Delaware did not secede. They cannot claim the word south or southern or southeast. They must remain mid Atlantic.
